The city, at least at this time of year, is dreary and grey. This is exacerbated by the voluminous grey museums and buildings. The Parisians are rude and not inclined to be helpful to the American tourist. There are many sights to see, on and off (don't miss the Catacombs)the beaten path that are wonderful, but lack of materials translated into English (or Spanish) make it difficult to fully take in all that could be. Fresh bread, cheese and fruit make a delicious and affordable meal, easy to get at anytime without a wait. The public transit system is excellent and things are easy to get to. Again, however, the grey tone and rudeness of the Parisians took much away from this trip, though hooking up with travelers from other countries wanting to practice their English eased the pain a bit.
