Husband and myself have just spent 3 days in Paris, lovely place and so interesting, my dissapointment was that we would have had to stand in line for about 3 hours to get on the Eiffel Tower as there were what seemed like 10,000 people there(good view across Paris from the Galleriies Lafayette terrace, bus route yellow) also the Notre Dame was so crowded. The open top tourist buses are wonderful, get a 2 day pass and get on and off whenever you feel like it,50 stops, also if the vernicular railway at the Sacre Coeur is broken (as it was) get the little train outside the Pigalle Theatre it takes you right up to the top or else it is lots of steps. Finally if I has known that Euorostar was so easy we would have gone years ago and from Ashford it takes about 2 hrs and you are only in the tunnel for 20 minutes, we will definately go again, we stayed in the Opera district which was lovely, take good walking shoes though. Beware lots of beggars and dog poo!!!!!!!!
