(Report Problem)Paris is my favorite city. It houses some of the most incredible art and architectural beauty. The metro was very clean and free of homeless on my last trip in 2003. I found the people to be very friendly and appreciative of my using as much french as I could. We stayed near the eiffel tower in the market area and found that not only was our location quiet and convienantly located within walking distance of both the eiffel tower and des invalides, but we could get fresh fruit and breads for breakfast on our way to a major metro station that was a mere 3 blocks away. Some tips: When ordering beef, make sure you know what you're getting. Some roast dishes come very rare and cold. Make sure to be aware of days and hours of sights. We wanted to see the Rodin museum but put it off and it ended up being closed on Mondays. Tackle the city in sections. This is effecient with time and money. The view from the 2nd level of the eiffel tower is actually better than that of the top. Climb to the top of the arch de triumph near sunset and watch the light show on the eiffel tower. spend the 10 bucks on the Rick Steve's Paris guide. You'll be glad you did!

(Report Problem)If you like arts, you should be there... all museums and even in the streets, you are able to see the expressions of arts through every corner. Moulin Rogue gives you an execellent feel of how the parisian lived their lives. Great place to meditate and explore arts!

(Report Problem)My husband and I are going to Paris this August. It will be my 2nd time his 3rd time visiting the beautiful city. We went last year in Feb 2004 and it was wonderful. The weather then was cold but bearable. I can't wait to see it in the summer. I enjoyed having lunch in the cafes and starring at the old historic buildings. If anyone has a chance to go, I say DO IT! It will be totally worth it!

(Report Problem)When you are done seeing the touristy things Get out of downtown. Go out into the nieghborhoods where the people live. Eat in the bakeries, Cafes and frommageries. Walk along the Canal St. Martin. Go to Bois Du Bologna, Take a boat ride on the lake. These areas are more beautiul than the touristy Paris everyone sees. Another interesting area is the Financial district outside main Paris, Where there are modern Skyscapers like the 52 story Grand Arche. (It can be seen from Arch de Triumph.)
