Paris was an amazing city to visit! It's not what you expect, because it's much, MUCH more. There is SOOOOOOO much to do, see, eat, drink, or go to that you could stay there for a month and not see all there is to see. If you go to Paris, I highly reccomend that you learn basic french, i.e. how to order, general pronouciation, etc. because the people there are much more willing to help you if you at least try and speak the language. I would also highly reccomend buying from a small market, bakery, etc for at least one meal, you will be surprised at what you can make yourself from some very cheap ingridients! The only problem I encountered in Paris was at the eiffel tower and the courtyard at notre dame, because there are people who will try and get money from you. All you have to do is FIRMLY say no, and they will usually leave you alone. Around the major attractions, there are usually police officers who spot the trouble quickly and get the person out of the area. It's rather funny actually, because the beggars aren't very creative- i saw the same scam 3 times, using a photocopied paper! Overall, Paris is the best place I have ever visited, and I would highly reccomend it for anyone! (by the way- If going there in the winter, i would not bring a bright coat, as i did, because you will stick out like a sore thumb!)

(Report Problem)The city is incredible and the people are wonderful. Who ever said that Parisans are rude is woefully wrong. It's a divine city that everyone should go to. I don't recommend taking children under the age of 16 along because Paris is more of a site seeing, shopping, and dining experience that children won't like. It's extremely easy to get around because the Metro is a very simple system. If you know where you want to go, you will have no problem getting there. When I went the American dollar wasn't too aweful compared to the Euro. Right now (April 2005) the American dollar is not doing well because of all the politics. Blame it on Bush. So be ready to spend some extra money. It's worth it!

(Report Problem)Me and my boyfriend went in September of 2004. We stayed in the Parc Asterik hotel, right outside of Paris. Which is really great. Especially if you have kids. We stayed in Paris for the next three weeks. Travelled everywhere on the Metro. Pigalle was interesting, but they charged us ALOT for things stating there was a tourist tax. Besides that everyone was very nice and interested in American culture. Try the La Cayonnaise restaurant for lunch, it's awesome. The best food ever. And there are better museums than the Louvre.

(Report Problem)I loved Paris!! It was the best summer I have ever experienced. I was in Paris from July 1st to August 6th of 2004. It was so beautiful and the people were so nice and helpful. Also, I went to Normandy one weekend. I was amazing as well. We walked on the beach where D-Day took place. But back to Paris, its a blast. There is so much to see and do. I am definitely going back!! If you are comtemplating a trip there... TAKE IT! You won't be sorry.

(Report Problem)I spent a week in Paris a couple of years ago. I couldn't have been happier. I stayed at a wonderful hotel in the Marais and could get anywhere easily on the Metro or on foot. I ate cuisine from a different country every night and never had a bad meal. I could see the Eifel Tower from my hotel window.

(Report Problem)Notre Dame is wonderful; you can find good restaurants without mortgaging the house! The French people are anti-American and love for you to know it. The emigres now living in Paris are much more interesting and accommodating.
