we loved it! although it's really expensive. if you're just wanting a beer, go in a bar tabac and stand at the bar to drink as it's cheaper!

(Report Problem)Paris is amazing. My favourite areas are the Marais east of the Pompidou centre, stunning and sexy and nice and gay, the Latin Quarter, which is the most sexy place I've ever been, the young people there are so cool, and the 16th arr. which is very posh and very beautiful. The museum of modern art for the city of Paris is under-rated. Areas to avoid are Les Halles and the Grands Boulevards, where I almost got mugged - both dangerous, especially at night, and apart from the Marais, the right bank is pretty stuck up and the bars there expensive and boring and the service, awful. And don't stay in the cheap youth hostels or B&Bs unless you want your handbag / wallet nicked.

(Report Problem)Paris is a beautiful, clean and monumental city. There is a great deal to see and do. The city is expansive but fairly easy to navigate. Some wonderful sights are The Eifel Tower, The Arc De Triomphe, Place De La Concorde, The Louvre, The Champs Elysee, Bastille, Notre Dame, Montmarte and the Sacre Coeur, The Pantheon, Jardins Du Luxembourg, La Conciergerie, Place Des Vosges, Saint Sulpice, La Defence, Invalides, Place Vendome, Musee Dorsay, Opera, La Madeleine and more The only thing that lets Paris down is the people. The Parisiennes give the rest of the French a bad name, they are generally rude and unhelpful unfortunately. However Paris is still well worth a visit, a must see!

(Report Problem)We just came back from 4 days in Paris. It was a nice trip but nothing exciting. The food is lovely, but is certainly possible to get a bad meal. I was surprised that a city where they have such amazing produce markets, it's difficult to find veggies in a restaurant! The pastries, bread and ice cream are definitely the best in the world. Shopping is good and the toy shops and book store are wonderful, expect to pay for what you get though. It's not a place for bargain shopping unless it's during sales time. We surprisingly found the people to be friendly and open, which isn't their reputation! We were with our two year old and she was welcomed and spoken to everywhere we went. While we had a nice time I think that part of why it wasn't fabulous was that it's just a big city, like so many other cities in the world.

(Report Problem)Lord, I miss Paris. It was the most magical place I have ever been thus far. (I'm only 12, but still, spectacular). I reccomend it to anyone. Except too you close-minded people who come with your pre-conceived Ideas about France. You will never experiance it as it should be experianced.

(Report Problem)Massively over-rated and over-priced. On the former, for example you sit on a boat tour extolling that Paris is the capital of arts, food, the world etc etc and that the Seine is one of UNESCO's world heritage sites ... just as that phrase comes out, you cruise by a massive cement works on the bankside and accompanying rubbish. As for the price, two small coffees and two croissants and you are looking at £9. Plus it just seems to lack vibrancy and bustle that a major European city should have. Even the better stuff like Versailles feels run down, plus the unfortunate path of revolutionary history means you are never sure exactly what you are looking at, the majority of the furniture has been scalped from other residences. Good points include the museums, the Latin Quarter/the 6eme and the metro but all in all, can think of better cities to go to, SanFran, Cape Town, Rome, NY, Berlin, Sydney ...
