worth a repeat visit

five stars

After hearing how this city is the "Paris of South America and another is the "Paris of the Mid-East" I decided to check out the real deal. It's quite understandable why any city would want to be compared favorably to Paris; but Paris is really incomparable. The Metro allows one unfettered transportation everywhere. The museums are world class, the lay of the city breathtaking, the architecture amazes, and the food intoxicating. Don't believe all the talk about the French. They're extremely proud of their culture and warm up nicely to "outsiders" who appreciate that what is FRENCH. Don't try to do it all, Paris is the kind of experience that keeps you coming back, planning my 6th trip back. October is my favorite time of the year.

Paris Is Great

five stars

Paris is the most wonderful city in the world and I would live there if I could find employment. Elaine sounds like one of these arrogant Americans who think they are better than everyone else and who look down on people. Well, Elaine, Parisians are far superior to you. Philadelphia, I remember their booing Santa Claus so how much class is that.

Not All It's Cracked Up To Be

three stars

The city, at least at this time of year, is dreary and grey. This is exacerbated by the voluminous grey museums and buildings. The Parisians are rude and not inclined to be helpful to the American tourist. There are many sights to see, on and off (don't miss the Catacombs)the beaten path that are wonderful, but lack of materials translated into English (or Spanish) make it difficult to fully take in all that could be. Fresh bread, cheese and fruit make a delicious and affordable meal, easy to get at anytime without a wait. The public transit system is excellent and things are easy to get to. Again, however, the grey tone and rudeness of the Parisians took much away from this trip, though hooking up with travelers from other countries wanting to practice their English eased the pain a bit.

Paris is the best city to goto in Europe. When Packing you should bring Jeans,T- Shirts, a few dress clothes and a leather jacket if you go in the winter months. You do not have to wear dark colors like everyone else says.Bring good walking shoes if you prefer to walk.

Christmas in Paris

five stars

It's an amazing city with great and breathtaking atmosphere, nice and cheerful people and very handsom boys :) My first visit took place when I was 6 - it was marvelous experiance. Now I'm nearly 18 and I'm up to spend there Christmas time. I know that it would be a great adventure - I can't wait to put my feet on Paris' ground ;)
