Poor Business Practices @ pragueResidences

one star

I contacted Frank about one of his properties, listed on this website and emailed him about the availability and rate. The rate posted on this website for this property for a week was $519 USD. In his reply, Frank quoted me a price of 558 Euro. I sent him a reply and asked why he was quoting me a differant rate from that which was posted on this website. To my amazement, he blamed it on a temporary worker who made an error...yea right...more like getting caught in a bait and switch. My advice, steer clear of Frank at pragueResidences.

Nice for a once off!

three stars

Try out La Casa Argentinia for the best steak in prague! was there for 4 days, loved it but would not have liked to stay any longer. Everything can be seen in 2-3 days! Also the people are not very friendly!

Where are their manners

three stars

Just back from a 4 day break in prague with a group of 5 others (3 couples). I can only reiterate the below message about their rudeness, its so ridiculous its nearly funny. I got worked up a few times in bars and restaurants with their lack of humour, attitude towards english speaking people and more than anything talking obnixiously about us and laughing in front of our faces. The restaurants are mostly lovely but you really have to concentrate on the company you are in cause if you try to engage in chit chat with the locals you are left feeling like a second class citizen. Another thing that see,s to drive them insane if you dont have the exact money. We tried to give cz1000 on a few occassions as we didnt have smaller and it was like we spat at them. Its only @E40 so god knows what you do if you dont have anyone with you to borrow smaller money. One more thing, there was a little shop beside the hotel where we bought tram ticket. My Dad went in on his own one day for chewing gum and the lady began roaring at him and threw him out. He has no idea why he didnt even get to pick up what he was looking for. I will never return to this city again

Prague is about perfect

four stars

First off, I think most all of you that wrote bad reviews about Prague are retarded. All of you that said it was too expensive, must have spent most all of your time in Old Town Square, any other place besides this part of town have very reasonable prices. many bars in the centre charge between 1-2euros per beer for 500ml, and all of the food is also reasonably priced. Yes the people are rude, but this adds to the charm of the city, if you ask any one of them, they are all extremely patriotic, and I am sure they had a reason to treat you like this. If you state a price for the taxi to take you someplace before you get in, then you will get a good price. Most of you being from the UK, you expect yo show up somewhere and everyone to kiss your behinds, but guess what, UK people are probably some of the rudest I have ever encountered, and I have traveled the world. I rarely hear someone say "hmm, I am going on holiday for the PEOPLE". Culture people, culture...

Most beautiful rip off I've ever seen!

two stars

Just spent 3 days in Prague. It's an incredibly beautiful city, but they completely rip you off any chance they get. We paid £17 for a chunk of ham and a sausage from a street vendor. Only realised when it was too late! Beer was between £4 - £6 for 500ml. It's a shame as I really liked the city but couldn't help feeling like a mug!!! Not going to be going again!

three stars

Someone I knew went to this place for a buisness trip. I asked that person to give me review when she got back. She said it was beautiful city but it had one of the rudest people. I read some other commets and alot of people agree with my friend. Below you will see when my friend went. I did not go to Prague I do not plan to.

Complete rip off - never again!

one star

I don't normally write reviews on places I have been but I am still so angry about my recent stay in Prague that I had to share it. It was really the worst holiday ever and I am so glad to be home. We stayed in a 5 star hotel on the old square which was really difficult to tell was 5 star apart from the location. The staff here and in fact in every restaurant we went to were incredibly rude we regularly had to ask for a menu, ask to be served, at times set our own table for breakfast and at the same time they were charging us astonomical prices. We paid £4 for a coca cola, £35 for one course without alcohol and the taxis really ripped us off. We had a bad experience booking a cab from the hotel so took a traxi from the street to the airport. I asked the price and he sid it would be on the meter we ended up paying 3 times the amount it cost to come from the airport. I will never return to Prague ever again and would not reommend it it is a complete rip off and the service is appalling!! Stay at home you will have more fun!

loved this city

four stars

Have just returned from a weekend break. the transport system is first class, clean and cheap.you can get a pass(cost about£10) and use it on everything. don't be put off by the local's surly appearance, just smile and you will find most people are friendly and helpful. An attempt to speak a little Czech will be appreciated. city is easy to get around, lots to see. get a guide book before you go and decide what you want to see.this will save you walking round in circles.river trips are good. we took the small boat trip from the side of charles bridge- knowledgeable guide-well worth the money(£9.50 inc.ice cream and drink).views from the tower on petrin hill were fantastic. the hall of mirrors on petrin hill was a disappointment because it was too crowded and spoiled the illusion.

Enjoyed Prague

four stars

The wife and I had a five night break in Prague. Loved the place and contrary to other reports found most people very helpful and friendly. Beer prices varied tremendously - found a few bars at cz30 for 500ml but most tended to hover around cz80 for 500ml - got ripped off once at the steak bar opposite the astrological clock ( cz153 for 400 ml beer - ouch) avoid this place and check the menu prices first before you buy. Apart from this incident we loved the place - plenty to see and do.
