Avoid at all costs

I was knocked down by a local moped driver while on a pedestrian crossing. Holiday ruined. Gashed leg. Hospital daily for stitches, dressings. Police brought criminal prosecucution. Three years on case was heard and dismissed. No reson ever given. No compensation. No apology. All I have is the scar to prove it. On same holiday three fellow travellers were robbed while sightseeing. Hotel was very poor too. Dont go.

Enjoyable Weekend Break

Most of the sights are within easy walking distance. Public transport is good. Food is good value for money. Expect crowds if you're anywhere near St Vitus Cathedral or the Astronomical Clock! In the tourist areas most people speak English pretty well.

I will never go back

Four of us went and were ripped off by the exchange shops in the square. They put boards out with the rate on, then the board display inside says different. They pay you short and anything they like, as once your money is under the glass there is no way you can get it back.Even the police will have nothing to do with it. We stood in the shop 3 hours. So many people had the same problem. They were picking pockets and steeling bags and cameras there was no end to it and the police no about it and don't even care. If you are young want a hot dog and a pint keep your things in a safe and don't change money never fall asleep then you might be ok. But we will never go back.This is just a small part of our holidays

a week in prague

The old part of the city is beautiful, with stunning architecture and interesting old cobbled streets. Do be sure to pick an hotel in this part as the rest of the city is dingy and dirty and the hotels are not to be recommended. Remember to get your ticket validated before getting on any public transport. Also, it's very cold in autumn and winter so wrap up well. A week was long enough for me, I don't feel any need to go back.

Going back next year

It was my first time in Prague this year. Went with four friends. The nightlife was excellent loads of bars to goto (alcoholic drinks better value than non-alcholic ones as I am teetotal). The women in Prague are beautiful, and there are many places to go and see them (if you know what I mean??). I am not that much into culture, but I found Prague very good. Lots to see. The walk over Charles Bridge to the castle is a must. I took over 200 photos in 2 1/2 days. Prague is definately an exellent place to go for a cheap budget short break. Food is good, so is the atmosphere and the people are very friendly. Can't wait until March 07 when I will be going back.

avoid

did not enjoy prague one bit. from the moment we got there we found people very unhelpful.the hotel we booked through thomas cook was a dump the first room we were given had not even been cleaned the second room was at least cleaner but had no hot water or heating.the hotel looked like a reject from the fifties more suited for a youth hostel

Prague unexpected aqatic jewel

Great for Scuba Diving/Snorkeling, though kafka is a bit depressing really perhaps if he went scuba diving he'd quit complaining about bureaucracy
