The city has some historically valuable buildings and monuments, but as the coutry has just started to develop, there are a lot of buildings that need attention. I suppose this will be done in the future...I found the city to be reasonably clean and people to very friendly, there is still some surprise in the face of people when they understand you're a foreign ! Not many of us there...Not many communist buildings in Sofia, there are a few in the center, but I found them to have an historical value. Don't expect anything like our western big cities with all the clubs, Djs and so on...but on the other side there a lot of new bars and cafes with very cheap prices. I agree with the other rewiewer, gilrs are hot ! I would raccomend to spend there 3/4 nights, and try to go there before it becomes like one of ours western cities. See something different !
