Not bad, that's all
For western tourists, whose first visit in Asia is Bangkok, Bangkok can be an unforgettable experience, making you love it or hate it. Thai people are usually nice and friendly, food is good. And despite its high pollution and traffic, Bangkok is nice place for shopping and has nice temples and palaces. However, I would say "It likes this in many asian countries... not only Bangkok and Thailand..."

Been to Thailand twice, Bangkok to be specific, I loved it. It took me a while to get used to the smell from the pollution, but the energy there is off the charts, so exotic, so much to see and do. I can't wait to go back and explore more of this wonderful country.

(Report Problem)Top choice for holiday destination
I was in Bangkok the first time and had stayed in a 5-star hotel. The place looked similar to Brooklyn, NY with high rise and slums cluttered together. Although the air was bad, the weather was nice without the scorching heat and high humidity you usually endure in other SE Asian cities. Thai people are generally polite and courteous especially towards tourists and foreigners. Getting around was easy as I stayed in the business district and took the skytrains/BTS - almost the same kind that you find in Singapore's MRT system. Shopping was pleasant and enjoyable because the value you get for the kind of price you pay cannot be compared elsewhere (maybe HK). The service is excellent - food in the hotel were delicious and they're so accommodating. Beware of taxi drivers though, as they like to recommend places that costs a bomb (I suspect they get commissions). Thailand will remain my top choice for shopping and dining.

Outstanding experience visiting Thailand. Got to see the world's largest Jewelery store, Wonderful traditional Thai Dancing and Crafts, The people make you feel welcome. Have visited twice so far, and Loved the experience.

I simply love this place eventhough the weather is a little hot (well it's ok with me coz from where i came it's hot too). Life there is so relax and carefree.As for the people, they are lovely and friendly. Some might said that they are nice to me because I am a tourist but i doubt so as i look like a thailander and has been mistaken as one quite a number of time. I thinks they are generally nice. Besides that the things there as sooo cheap and i afford to buy anything i want. Thailand has been my annual destination and hopefully i am able to live that in my retirement days

Bangkok is a polluted city! The traffic is unbelievable, and the multitudes of prostitutes add a smear of dirt that is tough to see past. The Grand palace is impressive.Most of the folks are friendly, but DO NOT let a taxi take you anywhere on a tour!! You'll end up at a gem store or at a tailors, not a shrine. With so many other things to do and see in Thailand, leave the city as quick as you can!

I visited Thailand last summer, I mean, it's a great country, beautiful temples, great food, and very inexpensive. Don't buy any fake clothes there.., they are really not worth it.., the beaches are beautiful, and the people is very friendly.., but be careful.., there are thousand of transexuals around the streets.., you cannot even tell between a female and a man.., that really freaked me out when I visited Ko-samui, Pattong.., you can see many transexuals walking along the streets.., so be careful..
