Bangkok is an amazing place and I hope to visit again some day. However, like one of the other reviewers, I got taken to the cleaners by the tailors at CJ Collections. Everything looks great when you visit their shop and they win you over with friendly service, but buyer beware. All is not as it seems. These people are as dishonest as the day is long. My story is almost identical to that of one of the other reviewers on this site. I wish that I had seen these warnings before my trip. Don't let the scams dissuade you from a visit to Bangkok, but you must keep your wits about you. I would say don't let anyone unknown to you lead to do any sort of shopping. The city is full of scams, especially when it comes to tailors and gem stones. Taxi and tuk-tuk drivers are often involved in the set up, but so are people you meet in lots of other places frequented by tourists.

(Report Problem)Some metered taxi's in Bangkok are crooks watch out!! We were quoted 50 bhat for a 100 bhat fare and when we got in the car, the driver wanted to take us somewhere else first so we can "help him" in return for offering us a cheap fare. God know where he wanted to take us but we managed to get out in the middle of the road before he drove for long. This happened to us twice with different taxi's so if they quote you a very stupid fare, my advise is don't take it, we were wiser next time a taxi quoted us 50 bhat for what is usually a 200 bhat fare! Best to use one who will switch on his meter than negotiate the fare. And even then they can drive you around for miles before taking you to your destination to increase the fare so best to look at a map or carry one with you before you jump in a taxi.

(Report Problem)I have learned the three golden rules of Bangkok tailoring, all of which still apply today: 1) Truly good tailors are too busy turning out back orders to do much talking. 2) The best tailors are mostly middle-aged men or a family business running for generations. In fact many Bangkok tailors don't use their family names as a company name anymore. The international image has more caché; thus the city boasts a Hollywood Tailor, and a Broadway Tailor, a Park Lane Tailor, a Cambridge Tailor and a Princeton Tailor. Many are all crap tailoring that is done today. One of the good one left is Excelsior tailor at suriwong road. Near the patpong road. They do good stuff and i highly recommend them. I have recommend everyone from my town to go to them so they save time and get good service at price. I have seen large crowd at the shop from the local to the expats.

(Report Problem)First and foremost, the price is ridiculously cheap!!!! You buy 1 for a set price and once you buy 3, its like 35% off for them!! Best idea is probably to go along with a couple of friends so you don't have to buy the exact same 3 clothes in your wardrobe. However, that being said, I'm far happier with Platinum then I was with MBK. Definitely a newer, better place to try.

(Report Problem)I have read great reviews for Crown Tailors in Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 8. I am not the type to complain; however, I was totally taken for a ride by Crown Tailors this past January... I checked out about 5 tailors on Sukhumvit before choosing Crown Tailors. I really liked the service at Crown Tailors and the atmospehere. Everything appeared great. That is not where the problem lies. As most of us, I was totally unexperienced when I went there - knew nothing about fabric, etc. They sold me horrible quality fabrics at inflated prices. I got two shirts and two pants, neither are pure fabrics and the pants, specifically, are very uncomfortable to wear. In a way it is my fault as I should have searched around more. Just a warning for the rest of you. Unless you get very rock-bottom prices from Crown Tailors, I'd go somewhere else. I live in Bangkok and have since found much better tailors. Nickerman's, Ragawonse and Rajas Fashions (all in Nana) are much, much better.

(Report Problem)Read a review about these tailor guys from yahoo uk and went to see them. Was totally impressed with their attention to detail and professionalism. Dealt with a guy named Suk and he made awesome suits for me. Moreover, they offer a visiting tailor service to the UK twice a year I have already signed on for that! I normally don't waste time writing reviews but I got recommended to them on this site so I wanted to repay back by putting this review up so other people get the chance to make great suits at real good prices too! I have to say INDERS FASHION is worth a visit on your next trip to Bangkok.

(Report Problem)It wasn't easy for me to find myself clothes as I have an odd body and it was even harder to find myself a reputable tailor with the thousands on them on Sukhumvit road. However after browsing through 10 over shops, I finally decided on Crown Tailors (which were inside of Sukhumvit soi 8) based off atmosphere, quality and affordability. I had two fittings and a very enjoyable experience with tailoring and now have 3 suits to show off for it and highly recommend Crown Tailors to anyone visiting Thailand for suits. 5 stars to them!

(Report Problem)Thailand is one of the best places on earth, Bangkok however- I would never go back. Why? Everyone is constantly trying to rip you off! And yes, I got ripped off by whom? A company called... CJ Collection Bumrungmuang Rd Bangkok Basically, a "friendly stranger" approached us, got us an unbeatable offer on a tuk tuk tour of Bangkok and told us of a one day sale for the Kings birthday at a place called CJ Collection! So like a couple of mugs we took the tour. On the way we stopped at the smallest filthy little temple where another "friendly stranger" told us the same story about the sale. So yes, we went I ordered a suit they said it would be ready the next day and it wasnt so they told me to deliver it to my hotel...blah blah blah. When I phoned later that week they said I had already received the suit and had signed for it. I am now in the middle of a dispute with mastercard, anyway this seems to be a VERY popular scam in Bangkok so please watch out for CJ COLLECTION! That sort of ruined what was otherwise the best holiday of my life!

(Report Problem)I read an earlier review about this place and said what the heck as I had limited time. It was well worth it - I gave this place 5 stars because they deserve it. The service was top class. I will be surely buying more suits from them. However, on the first fit, my pant length was too long - they shortened it for me and delivered it to my hotel that night. Great service, very affordable price. I would recommend you Inders Fashion with a happy heart :)
