(Report Problem)Taipei is a delightful place. Very nice people who welcome you. Nice for Americans these days. National Palace Museum is a vast depository of treasures from Old Cathay. A must see to appreciate Chinese civilization. The night markets are worth a stroll...the one near the Hyatt is interesting and manageable; Shilin is huge and overwhelming. The Snake Market is dying but worth as (s)troll. Note (not necessarily visit) the funky/seedy red-light district next to the snake virility peddlers. Combine with a visit to the nearby Longshan Temple for a view of the local believers. There are some excellent restaurants in taipei. the nightlife is also very good, but not on par with a huge city like Tokyo. There is something about those warm. languid nights that provides an air of adventure and mystery in Taipei.

(Report Problem)Taipei is a very nice, clean city to visit. The people are very hospitable and treat others with respect. The architecture is very western with the occasional traditional temple amid the modern buildings. The Core Pacific City mall (Living Mall) is very impressive as is the newly-opened Taipei 101 skyscraper. Be sure to go with a tour group because there is a lot of traffic and the tour driver negotiate the traffic. Besides, there are a lot of very neat things to see in the city. Why waste your time concentrating on driving and miss all the sights?

(Report Problem)The night market's here are absolutely incredible. Tourists can find excellent prices for clothes and souvenirs. The food here soooooo good and it's so cheap. If I lived in Taipei, I would just eat out everyday. If you live in Taipei, you can get pretty much anywhere using the subway. The signs all have English, so riding the subway is very straightforward and convenient. If you need to get anywhere else, just use a taxi. It costs US$2-$5 and is extremely cheap due to the heavy competition from the subway and large number of taxis in the city. Some great places to go: Shi Lin Ya Shi (biggest night market in Taipei) Taipei 101 (currently tallest building in the world) Xi Men Ding (a shopping district) Jin Hua Cheng (huge shopping mall that looks like a globe) Dong Chu (a shopping district) Yan Ming Shan (for mountains and hot springs)

(Report Problem)Taipei is a wonderful place to visit. People are so friendly, especially to visitors and tourists. Unlike in alot of other countries (including China), the Taiwanese seem to really like Americans!
