(Report Problem)Karachi the largest and the most populous city of Asia, presents an interesting and colourful combination of the old and new. The narrow twisting lanes and alleys of the old city throb with life alongside wide metalled road and elegant modern building. Within the city, talented artisans with age-old skills produce handicrafts of exquisite beauty. Karachi offers a variety of pleasant attractions, wide sunny beaches deep-sea fishing. yachting, golf and horseracing, all year round. Its restaurants cater to a wide choice of Pakistani and Western cuisines. Its markets and bazaars offer an endless variety of exciting shopping, including indigenous handicrafts. Particularly rugs and carpets of rare designs and beauty. Karachi `s recorded history goes back to the 18th century when its was a small fishing village known as Kalachi-jo-Goth. With the development of its harbour it gradually grew into a large city and an important centre of trade and industry. Its selection as the capital of Pakistan in 1947 added to its importance and accelerated its growth and development. Though the seat of Government shifted to Islamabad, Karachi still remins the centre of commerce and industry.

(Report Problem)Karachi is a lively and exciting city that is open for anything 24 hours a day! Great places to eat out, the local Karachite loves the classic food from 'Okra' and the new hot spot 'Pompey'. There are loads of coffee bars such as 'Espresso' and ice cream parlours springing up all over town, so going out after dinner at 10pm for coffee is easy and great! The traffic is awful so make sure you hire a car and driver, because parking on popular roads is impossible. Word of advice, ladies dress modestly to avoid being too noticable. Pick up great ready made kurtas at 'Khaadi' or buy material and try out a tailor.

(Report Problem)Karachi is a nice place to visit. Cheaper place to shop as compared to other big cities of the world. Good place for food. Food variety is excellent. Roads are not as good as these should be in a city of world standard. Government of Pakistan should spend money on mega projects to develop Karachi as a place that can attract visitors from all around the world. In this way government can make money.

(Report Problem)The first thing I noticed after arriving in Karachi was a sense of calm and prosperity in the city, which is contrary to all the negative publicity this city has endured for many years. For a city of 17--18 million people in a not-so-rich country, Karachi is very well maintained. The best thing I liked about Karachi was convenience. The hotels are excellent, the transportation is good, the people are so nice, and the food is just awesome!! Karachi has some very nice beaches, such as Paradise Point and Clifton beach etc that are simply beautiful!! Karachi is a huge city. The people are crazy about cricket, but they seem to have extremely busy lifestyles. A place worth visiting!!!!

(Report Problem)Karachi is no more an insecure place to live in. People can now freely walk around even after mid nights with out having any fear of being robbed. I like Karachi because of the people, they are very open minded, frank and helpful. Karachi has great eating out places and ice cream parlours like Pompey, Cafe Zouk, BBQ Tonight,Hot Spot etc. What i dont like about Karachi is its roads. I feel Government should spend money on its road building and more fly overs and bridges for better transportation system. Karachi is a fun place to visit and definately a place where you would like to come over and over again.

(Report Problem)The most striking experience, living in Karachi, is its character of the Melting Pot, where one comes across people from almost all the different regions of Pakistan. Karachi may not be a historical city but is now the cosmopolitan hub of business and industry, with a well-developed seaport and airport. The beach is a major attraction here. Talking of the beach, it makes the city's climate moderate thorughout the year. The city is also fast emerging on the fashion in the South Asia, with the major Pakistani designers headquartered here.
