I love Japan. Everything is easily accesible, and the subways are always on time, clean and efficient. Everyone normally keeps to themselves, but when asked for it, will always help you out. One of the best hotels I stayed at was the Annex Katsutaro Ryokan in Nippori. It is a family owned in and very clean. It is also located in the business district near Yanaka Ginza, a market street, that comes alive at night and is always fun to go to. And, of course, my favorite thing to do while I was there was shopping!! Especially at the HMV store....I kinda overdosed on my fav. Japan bands there. =^_^=

(Report Problem)Tokyo is the world's largest city with 34 million people and this means that there need to be enough attractions to cater for a number of people equivalent to the population of Canada. Anything and everything one could be interested in is somewhere in this vast metropolis - from traditional cultural attractions (eg. Meiji Shrine) to a world of modern electronics (Akihabara). And the atmosphere is wonderful. When searching for accomodation look for somewhere with a view - at night time looking out over this endless sea of lights sprawling to every horizon, punctuated by massive skyscrapers is truly breathtaking. And even if you're on a budget you can find a view. I recomend the Tokyo International Youth Hostel. And the night life at street level is great too. Truly this must be the world's best city, not just its largest and richest.

(Report Problem)I can't say Tokyo is the best city in the world because, obviously, I haven't been to every city in the world. By far though, Tokyo offers an amazing experience for all tourists. It demonstrates a convergence of technology and culture. When I visit, I feel that so welcome, and I see smiling faces practiaclly everywhere. Tokyo developes its own unique street culture and style, and the city itself is extremely admirable.

(Report Problem)Wanna touch the sky? Wanna know how the heaven can be? Head to Tokyo then! This was the most beautiful city I ever saw, and everything is perfect to me. You will meet a mixture of modernity and tradition, living in a safe, full of attraction city. It's four years I don't go elsewhere: when I'm on vacation, I'm in Japan. Trust me, you can't find another place like this Counytry (not only Tokyo, of course)

(Report Problem)I love tokyo so much. Food are so deliscious, exotic nature of it's culture, so much to do. so much to see. If you go to Ameyoko in Ueno station, they will negotiate many product that they want to sell. Akihabara and Shinjyuku is a good place o see the lights at night, Asakusa is a good place to see the temple... It's just amazing place.

(Report Problem)From the neon lights of Asakusa to Shibuya I found myself wondering the streets of Tokyo, passing by the brightly lit arcades, shopping centers, sushi bars, and karioke joints. I was overwhelmed and still am from the whole experience. It is a culture and a city so distant and so strange that it is almost a different planet. The people are kind and the language barrier is not as much of a problem as one would expect, but the expereince of the city is life changing. The only downside is at times one can feel a little alienated but overall it has been the greatest experience of my life and I highly recommend going at any cost. The beauty of the city lies within the deeply inrooted culture that is found within the people and the modern marvels of the city. It is a new city so the technology is amazing but the greatest part of the city is the exploration of it. The simple discovery of its strange world is both the most memorable and in my opinion most moving.

(Report Problem)most amazing experience ever. everything about this city is great. the sights the lights the poeple the food and my favorite SAPPARO BEER!! i recommend for night life a night in shinjuku roppongi and my favorite shibuya. on a clear night the view of the rainbow bridge and lights of the skyline with tokyo tower from odiba is the most beautifull site that i saw there. also the 40 minute train ride to yokohama is recommended. to save money 1)eat local shops(the best food and dirt cheap) 2) don't even think about taking a taxi. tokyo is hectically busy like New York city but unlike NYC it is peacefull at the same time.
