I been to bali 9 times and every time i have had a ball. I just got back on saturday from a 2 wk holiday with my wife however it was not the holiday we intended. Whilst walking down the street in legian in june 2009. The streets were blacked out and a motor bike came close to my wife and ripped her bag off her arm and rode away. She lost everything, money, phone, camera and the security key which is the worst of all. Just a quick note to be careful whilst walking the streets most of the time its safe but unfortunatly we let our guard down and were caught out. I am very proud of my wife due to the way she handled this situation. BE CAREFUL everyone but have fun

(Report Problem)Most of you are giving reveiws based on one small, busy, touristy part of Bali. You get out of the South and you see the real Bali. You won't have a Hyatt but you will have beautiful villas surrounded by Rice Terraces or mountains or small quiet beaches. Kuta is like any other touristy beach town in the world, but cheaper. If that's what you want enjoy yourself. But then don't complain about the business and the smells of a congested city. Go to Ubud or the East or West Coast or to the North for some real peace.

(Report Problem)Great place if youre up for a self indurance test, just watch out for the thieves, we had our room broken into and cameras stolen, went to reception to complain telling them the camera is insured we just wanted the film and when we got back that night the film was sitting on the bed!!!!!!!!!!! Also watch for the 'friendly' locals trying to shake ya hand walking down the road...they are really trying to lift your watch!!! Ubud is completely different, nothing bad to say about the place. Best bet though is to jump on a boat and go to the Gilli islands.....super chilled place with a little bit of nightlife, havent been for a while so i hope its still the same.

(Report Problem)My partner and I spent two nights at Puri Asri Villa and Spa . What a unique place. We stayed in the Suite room for $35 per night, including breakfast and get free traditional massage. The villas had a living room with private garden, kitchenette, bedroom, completely open air bathroom was still satisfying. The pool was quite and clean . which only adds to the experience. The staff were very accommodating, and barly raised an eyebrow when my partner and I checked in. They also run a shuttle into Ubud until 24 hours, which was quite convenient. For free of charge trasport to ubud area, Though not a five-star resort by any stretch of the imagination, we both became enamoured with the place, and did not want to leave. During our trip, we stayed at the Bali Cliff Resort and the Hotel Imperial Bali, but the Puri Asri Villa and Spa was by far the most interesting of the three places. They also have a restaurant which provides basic Indonesian food at very reasonable prices. All in all, we would definitely go back

(Report Problem)We spent two weeks in Bali in November 2004, and I would go back in a heartbeat! The first seven days were spent in Kuta, where we lounged on the beach during the day, and partied in the various bars and clubs all night. Fantastic fun - but just your average beachy break. However, we then travelled to the North of the island, and started making memories. In Lovina, which is famed for it's black, volcanic sands, we took a 5am row boat trip out to see the dolphins. Sitting at water level, we were almost close enough to touch them. We also ventured to Batur, to climb Bali's largest volcanoe. We set off at 3am, and reached the top in time to see the sun rise! Our guides cooked us eggs over the volcanic rock - quite simply an amazing trip!

(Report Problem)Did a three stop tour end of 2005. Hong Kong, Bali & Singapore. Bali is heaven on earth. Could not fault anything. Great value and cheap. The people are so nice and friendly. Beaches are lovely with white sand and crystal clear water. Great romantic setting for any couple of any age. Large varieties of food. Wonderful landscaped gardens. Snorkling a must. We would recommend the Bali Hyatt as the top hotel to stay at. We were so impressed we are returning again this year for a month.
