ITS NOT A GOOD CITY AT ALL

YOU REALLY FEEL HELPLESS HERE IF YOU ARE NOT BORN IN TAMIL NADU.PEOPLE ARE ONLY COOPERATIVE IF YOU ARE TAMILIANS,THEY TALK RABBISH ,ARROGANT,SELF CETERTED AND UNNECESSARY BEHAVE LIKE ANIMALS.BASICALLY CHENAI SUCKS.AND FINALLY THIS IS THE CITY WHERE YOU FIND PEOPLE HAVING HOT COLD DRINKS AND BEER HAHAHAHAHA

Simple yet amazing

This is a city not many foreigners know about. It has the largest beach in asia, is home to one of the biggest film industries in the world - Kollywood and houses BMW and Victoria's Secret factories. South Indian food is excellent but sadly not well known outside India. Chennai is also famous for traditinal music and dance as well as its numerous saree and jewellery shops. Warm all year round - avoid May-July. The temples are beautiful too - the popular ones are the Kapaleshwar temple in Mylapore and the Madhya Kailas in Adyar.

chennai get going

a city very close to my heart.it has got everything but somehow i feel that it has not got the share it deserves. very intellectual city producing excellent indiviuals in diverse fields ranging from academia,music,films,industryetc.i think the city has changed quite a lot leaving its conservatism behind. it is equivalent to any great city but probably lacks marketing which the other cities do(some cases excess and wrong marketing)

Love the city.. absolutely roks!

Chennai is the most happenin city, in all of India.. its got great shops.. awesome bargains. lots o' things to do around. lovely ppl.. altho most r extremely conservative and traditional. the college crowds keep the city lively with a range of programmes and dance competitions that keep the young mass well entertained. nite clubs like Hell Freezes Over n Dublin hav mind-blowin music, n its heaps o' fun. the lovely beach in Mahaballipuram is simply gorgeous. other nice beaches to go for a walk havin sundal are Marina and Beasant Nagar beach. the cultural dance, bharathanatiyam is somethin u wudn't wanna miss. kalakshetra is a place where u get to explore the history of tamil nadu. there r awesome amusement parks for the whole family like MGM Dizzee World, VGP Golden Beach, Kishkinta, etc. shoppin at spencer's plaza was quite an experience, with sooo many ppl around, but still lots to explore. u can find churches, temples n mosques in every corner of the street. n somethin else worth mentionin...lots of lovely food.. especially the chinese restaurant, Wangs Kitchen, has simply amazin delicacies. well i cud keep goin on n on forever... but u hav to go n explore da rest for urself in this Indian city that never sleeps.. hav fun y'all... jus like i did!

Chennai - My views

I feel this city has its own culture very distinct from other cities. Different people, different food style, different architecture yet very self sufficient city. The infrastructure is not that bad having the population in mind. Traffic is well managed and it seems to be getting better. Its calm and comparitively cleaner than other major cities. Food is another thing worth a mention here. Rentals right from apartments to cars would not bite your pocket. The night life is not that great. Auto richshaws simply suck. It is better to have some one who can speak tamil if you are not good at english.

Please change ur slide show - very misleading abt the city's actual image

the yahoo slide show on chennai , is as bad as it can get. VICTORIA TERMINUS is in Mumbai, not Chennai. And instead of putting pictures of some places of interest like the marina beach , mahabalipuram , govt buildings , slides of some Hindi Movie Hoarding (which is a rare site in India is put up !)
