I'll be back

five stars

I lived in HK for 3 years and reading the reviews about things to do, places to go, things to eat brings back very fond memories. All the positives written are accurate the only thing I would like to add is the best time to visit is around Christmas (the decorations can't be beat) through Chinese New Year, give or take March and April. The summer typhoon season can be brutal especially with the non-stop rain and humidity. Hong Kong is safe and there is never a dull moment to be had. If you are in good shape and enjoy a strenuous hike, walk up Old Peak Road to the Peak. The views are beautiful and once you reach the top, visit Cafe Deco...great look-out point at night...ask for a table along the windows.

Fabulous, and it smells like tea and fish. Gotta love it!

five stars

We went to HK in September, and it was very, very hot and humid. We still had a GREAT time. The public transportation is easy to use, and the cab drivers were all helpful, polite, and efficient. We don't speak Chinese and we had no difficulty. In fact, a lot of people spoke English, more than we expected. The markets are a blast. We took the train to Guangzhou, in mainland China and that was a bit overwhelming with people harrassing us to buy things. We took the ferry to Macau, which is beautiful and there's some fun shopping and sights to see. It was easy to get lost there though, and we did. Causeway Bay had great dining and better shopping. For antiques you can't beat Hollywood Road. I asked people when the best time of year was to come and they said Spring, April/May. The Jumbo Floating Resturaunt was kitschy and I didn't really care for the food. I'm sure there is a better "Chinese" experience there than that. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton and the Peninsula, both luxurious, but the Peninsula can not be beat. It is a breathtaking hotel, and you must stay there, at least for a night. AMAZING!

14 days in hong kong cant remember to much

five stars

The only thing about hong kong I didnt like was the taxis they will rob you, if you want to go to kowloon take the subway much cheaper and a hell of alot faster. For travel around the hong kong side they are not to bad but there is alot to do so WALK! most skyscrapers have stores and shops in the street level areas alot of shopping to do ladies! Guys just try to find the bars kick back with a pint and its not to hard to find a bar! If your into fun night life Be sure to visit Lan Kwai Fong many different bars on ne street something for everyone there! That place was a lot of fun Also one more thing bardder with the store keepers they will sell you products for less than what they are asking and be carefull of the DVDs make sure they will work in your players when you get home
