Use caution

I have to admit I felt tense when we arrived in the city, mainly due to the reportedly high crime rates. This wasn't helped by the fact that our taxi was attacked by a stone thrower on our late night transfer from the airport to our hotel. Not a place I wanted to linger long in - but the rest of the country from idyllic remote Lamu to the safari parks were amazing.

Nairobi is amazing all round it has amazing nightlife and it has a friendly chilled out atmosphere. There are many activities to do in nairobi.

Great for: Beaches, Scuba/Snorkeling, Hiking/Camping, Nightlife, Budget Travel, Family Holidays

"La joie de vivre", for a fortnight anyway!

Without loss of generality, splendid hub to browse the rest of Africa. All yr round the ambiance is superb. Reasonably priced albeit somehow slow. MUHANDO B.

I love Nairobi.I was born out here.I am from South B but I live in States.When I get older I will come back here and live and go to to University Of Nairobi.It is beautiful out here even where I was born.In Nairobi West with my mom,sister and my dad.

A Necessary Evil

Nairobi is the necessary hub through which you must pass to get to the splendor of the rest of the country. The coast is fantastic, the west is fascinating with the "real" African ure coming through, and the safaris are not to be missed. Nairobi is prentetious, polluted, expensive, crowded, and dirty.
