Love This City!!

five stars

I have traveled to many places, but never I have a found a place that has so much for so little. You need to be aware of your surroundings but I never felt like I was in any more danger then walking around any other big city. The people were friendly and Carnivale was amazing! Your hotel can help you march in the parade and it is will worth the expense.

I'll never go back to RIo...

two stars

I visited Rio and found it to be extremely dangerous for tourists. The day time is not much safer than at night. The police are a joke and unless your travelling in a crowd look out for muggers and pick pockets. They are everywhere. Rio is very beautiful and there are alot of things to do. Too bad it is not safe.

not comforting to know

three stars

I hear fireworks from my balcony at the Sheraton Hotel.(thinking maybe it's a pre-celebration for Carnival) Then, 5 minutes, I hear gunshots and machine gun fire. This happens every night we are there. There are military police on the beaches and streets every 50 ft. carrying AK rifles. We were told to not carry cash and not to travel at night. After the thunderstorms, the sludge from the tenant slums on the mountains, come down the mountain onto the streets and onto the beaches and waters. You can see the dark sewage floating down and into the waters. We were warned to not swim in the waters.

Brazil!!!!

five stars

Everything is amazing in that country! I went to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fernando de Noronha, Bahia. Rio de Janeiro: Do I have to say anything? Everybody who wants to have fun knows Rio! The most beautiful women on earth are in Copacabana. Sao Paulo: Sao Paulo is their Big Apple! Fernando de Noronha: Nature's Paradise; the water of the ocean is so clean that you can see the coral reefs. Bahia: I love Frevo!!!

New Yearīs eve in Rio - Must do!

five stars

One can live like a king for just a few bucks. The place is beautiful and the people really nice. Everyone should visit Rio at least once in their life time. New Years eve IS the time to visit, over 2 million people go to the beach of Copacabana to watch the fireworks. The most amazing thing is that everyone is wearing white all expecting for a peacefull new year - Awesome!

A place you must see before you die!

five stars

What a fantastic city!! Like Cape Town, Vancouver or Sydney, but with Latin vitality and open, smiling people. Had heard lots about crime, but saw absolutely no evidence of any trouble and lots of tourist police to protect and help visitors. The sights are amazing, the beaches perfect. And even if it rains, Rio has great museums and, believe it or not, great shopping.

Everyone should visit that wonderful city !

five stars

Itīs absolutely fabulous, good weather, nice people, an amazing food! Itīs a city craved between the mountains and the sea, itīs a South America pearl, everyone should visit this city before die ! There you can find Cristh the reedemer at the top of Corcovado Mountain, with a splendid view of city surroundings. The sugar loaf, you can take a cable car and go to the top. The famous Caopcabana and Ipanema beach..Oh I loved that city, hope to back there someday.
