I LOVE the Botanical Gardens, West End Marketplace and the architecture of Dallas.

(Report Problem)I've been all over the world, and Dallas will always remain close to my heart. There is never a shortage of things to do, and if you think it has no significant history then you obviously aren't doing your research. The Dallas Museum of Art has excellent exhibits, the 6th floor Kennedy Museum is very informative, the West End is always a good time, the planetarium, the aquarium, the botanical gardens, and the Fort Worth Zoo are all worty attractions, and between Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, Schmirnoff Music Center, Fair Park, the Rangers, the Stars, the Mavs, and the Cowboys there is always something fun going on. Restaurants of all cuisines and sizes abound, from chains to small cafes, nd you can't skip Billy Bob's in Fort Worth! Then, when you get tired of the crowds of downtown there are plenty of surrounding cities to visit. Try Pete's Piano Bar in Addison for a change of pace. Don't forget to drive down Lover's Lane and soak in the "old money" in University Park, then head to Willow Bend in Plano to see the lifestyles of the "nouveau riche!"

(Report Problem)After living here for approx. 8 months, I am planning on my next move, preferably to a smaller, saner city. Dallas is okay when visiting for a couple of days, but for living on a daily basis sucks. For somebody that wants more out of life than huge malls, freeways going in every direction, unfriendly people, corporate highrises, lack of culture, etc. look elsewhere. It's funny how there are actually people living here that think Dallas is such a great place! I almost have to laugh. I think I would rather live in the middle of the desert.

(Report Problem)I have lived in Dallas twice. I am originally from Houston. Dallas is much more personable. The many lakes are beautiful and serve as a low cost activity. Downtown has a wonderful night-life. The light of the City are spectacular. I can't forget Los Colinas and the outstanding resturants.

(Report Problem)Dallas is to travel destinations what Wonder Bread is to baked goods: it's bland, it's predictable, and some people really like it. Dallas has no significant museums, no historic attractions, no interesting architecture, no attractive green spaces, very little in the way of vibrant city life, relatively little arts and culture, poor mass transit, and no downtown. It does have plenty of freeways, shopping malls, and suburbia. If you absolutely have to be in this area, Fort Worth is better.

(Report Problem)A big BIG subburb in search of a city. All the restaurants are big chains. Any part of the city "Metroplex" that has any character is over-run with pretentious people. And if someone tries to start another conversation about the cowboys I will scream! Lived there for two years. I was willing to give it a chance, but no. After two years of searching for life and anything interesting to do I just gave up. Locals hang out at the MANY MANY malls or watch a movie on one of their 20 screen monsters. Mostly people who think Dallas is cool come from Oklahoma. Sorry, it's true. Leads the country in TV evangelists and infidelity. That sums up Dallas.
