My favorite place
It is the most beautiful city. Full of history. The homes and churches are amazing. There is so much history in the downtown area. Charleston has some of the best places to eat, and a great variety of foods. Shopping is unlike going to the local malls. Here you shop in historic buildings. Park your car and spend a few days walking the city. You will get the best views. In addition, the beach is only 15 minutes away.

FYI to all travelers - Charleston, SC is a MUST DO for 2005!! My wife and I live just 4 hours away and make it to Charleston several times a year. Charleston is a first class destination. TONS of charm and history. Very friendly people. We've done all the touristy stuff (Aquarium, Ft Sumter, Hyman's) and are always looking for something unique. One of our favorite things is just walking around town. If you have time, check out one of the history or ghost walking tours. We've done em all and the best by far is Bulldog Tours on Market Street. They offer something like 4 or 6 different tours. www.bulldogtours.com if interested. First class restaraunts as well - SNOBs, Magnolias, Peninsula Grille, Boathouse are all wonderful. I lived in Charleston for about a year and I LOVED it! The beaches are not too far. Down town is beautiful! I wish I had never left!

It's a beautiful place chockful of history-the good, bad, and the ugly. But Charleston has a knack for making bad things seem okay and good things really terrific! The society in Charleston is truly the world's smallest mutual admiration club. The traffic is horrendous, however, and really detracts from the beauty, especially, of the Downtown Historic District.

This town has every possible type of fod you could desire. Apparently it also has 23 of the top 100 restaurants in the nation. We loved everything we ate and there is food for every budget. The night life is also rocking. Jazz and Rock bands can be found preforming nightly. It's also a very family friendly town. Our friend brought her baby with her and was welcomed everywhere. If you listen to the 90 minute presentations you can recieve free gifts from companies. We listened to a condo seller and recieved $100 to whatever restaurant we desired and 3 days, 2 nights free hotel. Many excellent beaches are also near by. You can surf, kitesurf, or just stroll the beach hand in hand with a loved one. We can't wait to go back.
