Was only in Philidelphias for a day, but even at that there wasn't much to do, and it was hard to find any decent restaurants at all. Franklin's grave was the highlight.

Bad Vibes!

I just got back from a conference in Philly. Downtown, at the convention center---talk about a bad vibe running through a city! Yeah, sure there are a few good restaurants, but not nearly enough and many close early. It was a dirty, mean-feeling, angry kind of place, from the airport to the downtown area and back again. Oh yeah--my first hint? The cabby tried to rip me off and I had to get in a loud shouting match with him for a receipt! (He wanted me to give up an extra $5 for it!) Geez. If the "tourist" areas are run down and beat up, just imagine what the rest of the city is like. I've lived in Paris and go to conferences all over the US. I'd rather be in Paris, in the 18th (rough area) at 1am, than on a downtown Philly street at 5pm. I'll avoid conferences in that city for a long time. One plus---the colonial areas are interesting, but Boston isn't far off either....

Pennsylvania Native, and Philadelphia Lover!!!

Philadelphia, America's 5th largest city is perfectly sittuated between NYC and DC. They dont call it "Miny New York" for nottin!! Filled with beautiful parks, people,food,muesuems, stadiums, historical buildings, and the best part... THE SKYLINE!!!!!! Philly is definetly the place to be. For those who love nightlife..Philadelphia is famous for having some of the best night clubs in the country! If you love history..there is no better place! This is the home to Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross..and so much more! The Declaration of Independence was written here, as well as the Constitution. Also this is the best city for a sports fan!!.. You can go see a..Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or 76ers game while you are in town. Philadelphia, with out a doubt, is one of Americas most beautiful,hip,cool,historical, fun-filled cities! Definetly a city to see!!!

Both good and bad

I live in a burb of philly and I go there atleast once a month if not more. Theres plenty to do at ngiht, but thats for those who actually are brave enough to venture out. I've been in both the good and bad parts of Philly, never had anything happen to me, but I have heard plenty fo stories to be alarmed. OVerall its a fun and interesting.

PHILLY IS LIKE THE WILD WEST, ANYTHING GOES. PEPOLE DRIVE LIKE TOTAL MANIACS AND THERE ARE ALWAYS FIGHTS AND JUST RANDOM CRIME ON THE STREETS. AND I'M TALKING ABOUT THE "TOURIST" AREAS, IMAGINE WHAT IT'S LIKE IN THE REAL BADLANDS. WHEN YOU WATCH THE PHILLY NEWS YOU GET A GOOD IDEA OF THAT CITY'S PROBLEMS. IT DOES HAVE A GREAT NIGHT LIFE AND ALOT OF HISTORY, PLENTY TO SEE, BUT IT IS A CITY TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL. NORTHEAST PHILLY HAS ONE OF THE, IF NOT THE MOST DAGEROUS ROADS IN THE COUNTRY- ROOSEVELT BLVD. THEY DRIVE LIKE THE MAD MAX MOVIES. YOU SEE PEOPLE WITH NOSE RINGS, TATS, BLACK LEATHER, I CAN'T BELIVE THESE GOOD REVIEWS THAT WERE PUT IN, BRING A BULLET PROOF VEST. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE CRAZY. WHEN I WAS THERE, THERE WERE 22 SHOOTINGS IN VARIOUS PARTS OF TOWN, ALL RANDOM, IN TEN DAYS. AND NEIGHOURING CAMDEN IS A REAL TREAT. YEAH, GREAT PLACE TO GO. YOU JUST GET THIS NORTHEAST MANIC, STESSED OUT, VIOLENT, RUDE VIBE THERE.

Philly is phun phun phun!!!

I love Philadelphia! This city has great history! The Independence mall, constitution hall, liberty hall, etc! There is lots to do! Awesome nightlife! The people are very friendly! Big sports fans there too! The only bad thing is the crime, and litter all over the city which is horrible especially for one with a great history! Its sad. There is lots to do. The art museum is highly reccomended! I really enjoyed Philadelphia!! And I will be more than happy to visit again!!

All The Nuts Don't Just Roll Down To Florida

I too, unfotunately, grew up here in "Filthadelphia" and can't wait to finally leave! I am always amazed that people come here - voluntarily! - and waste their money thinking they're getting a great vacation. The city government is unbelievably corrupt, the people here are incredibly rude (just check out the various polls USA always does on the un-friendliest city in America), one of our idiot mayors closed down the state hospital 20 years ago and kicked all the crazy people out on the streets and guess what - they're still there!!! And don't get me started on SEPTA, the country's worst transit system. Only come to Philly if you want to get shot, stabbed, robbed, raped or accosted by some homeless ex-mental patient downtown. Do yourself a favor and save your money for your Social Security investment account.

Good Times

Philly was an awesome city to visit. The nightlife is great and the architecture of the buildings is beautiful. The people of the city were the nicest people I have ever met. Would love to go again.

NICE CITY BUT....

OVERALL PHILADELPHIA IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT,BUT THE COST OF LIVING IS THROUGH THE ROOF AND THERE IS NEVER NO PLACE TO PARK.I KNOW BECAUSE I'M FROM THERE.
