I live not far from Philly, and, it's not a great place. I have lived in a lot of places, and Philly is about my least favorite. I have been all up and down the 95 corridor. Boston...loved it. I was born in New York City...love it. Philly sucks, just keep driving, then you get to DC, which is ok in a lot of ways. Philly is corrupt, and it shows in the infrastructure, and the mood of the city. Their sports teams even suck! (If the Eagles lose this weekend, which I predict. 31-14 Pats.) Anyhow, there is traffic everywhere, and the "redevelopment" of the Downtown area is non existent. Even the airport sucks! Never have I seen an airport laid out worse. And, for the 5th largest city in the country, nothing seems to go on there! It's weird...the city seems to be New York City's weak sister. There is a big push for tourism, but the attractions are in the middle of lousy areas. Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, etc. are all located near office buildings, and the immediate area is packed with traffic, and dirty! Not what I would want as my city's showpiece. From the mayor on down, the city is run by thugs, yet the people vote for him overwhelmingly. There were even allegations of voter fraud in the last Prez election. (PA was a swing state, remember). The people there are rude, and really think they live in a forefront US city. It simply isn't. Their airport ranks 30th in the country of passengers moving through it. NO ONE WANTS TO GO THERE! In my humble opinion. In my humble opinion.
