I went to Philadelphia for a conference. I only had three day to see everything. I didn't get to see everything. I am dying to go back. I loved seeing the liberty bell, and where the declaration of indepence was signed.

I currently have lived in Philadelphia for three years. I am digusted by the filth of the city. It seems like Philadelphians are the dirtiest people on earth. There is trash everywhere. The people are very rude and would probably give you the finger before holding a door open for someone. They are also the worst and rudest drivers. Center City is a very nice area but WAY OVERPRICED as for the few other neighborhoods that are not crimeridden. It took one month in Philadelphia before I was mugged at gunpoint and when I mentioned that to any Philadelphian there was no sympathy moreover they would respond with "Oh when I was mugged for the third time" or "When my car was stolen." The rent, taxes, and general cost of living are way overpriced for what you get here (lets face it this is no New York or DC....but the prices are comperable). I am thoroughly digusted by this city and cannot wait to leave this summer. Save your money and go to DC, New York, or Chicago. MAYOR STREET AND CITIZENS OF PHILADELPHIA GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND CLEAN UP THIS CESSPOOL!!!!!!! Oh btw the food is good and the history is a nice benefit.....but dont get mugged on the way to Independence Hall or dinner.

I was staying at the Hilton in downtown and I didn't feel safe all the times, plus the traffic was very busy, but overall, I loved the city. I return there as often as possible.

The city has a European atmosphere. Walking was no problem but cabs were plentiful when we wanted to ride. Very friendly cab drivers. Be sure to take the double decker red tour buses to get a feel for the city. Be sure to check hours for various national park buildings as they do vary a great deal. Don't miss a meal at the City Tavern in the historic district!

The city has a wonderful charm to it, with its old winding steets. The only problem is the populace that lives in the city tend to throw anything they don't want to discard on the streets. I even had seen a police officer dsicard a donut box right on the street. There is little public pride in this very historic city. The driving in the city is like the wild west at times. Though the city is layed out in an easy fashion, yet there are too mnay signs that confuse - if there are any signs at all. Alas, it is the price one must pay in order to enjoy the beautiful aspects of the city. There is the music and thriving dance community, from what I have heard the artists must struggle too much to pay their bills.
