the beautiful rose city is very serene and home like.. I love visiting the city and would love it to make my new home in the near future..

(Report Problem)Portland actually is a city with somewhat of a small town feel. The area near Portland St. is very interesting. All of the streets are one-way and on each side of you there's different types stores, restaurants, etc. The rail way that runs through town, adds a distinct charm. The natural beauty of the area is remarkable. On the downside, some of the other areas are dirty and aren't very appealing as well as having a good amount of homeless people along the streets. Most of the housing is quite old and not kept up very well. That being said, Portland is a place I'd like to visit but not live.

(Report Problem)I like the feel of Portland. There are interesting people here! I found plenty of healthy, affordable food. There are also top-tier restaurants available. The natural beauty of the area is equal to or surpasses that of my native California. Care was taken in city development so that it is easy to follow a map or directions and the architecture is pleasing. Coming from a mostly left-wing political area, I enjoyed going to a place with strong areas of both left- and right-wing supporters. If only the rain was not so vehement! Driving the highway in a classic Portland rainstorm was definitely nerve-wracking for me. Maybe I',m just not used to it? Despite the weather, I definitely recommend Portland. I may move there!

(Report Problem)Portland is often compared to its big brother to the north Seattle. And though the "Rose City" isn't as purely spectacular as Seattle, Portland more than makes up for lack of Puget Sound views by its friendly and very walkable downtown.. its distinct neighborhoods, and its friendly people. Where Seattle's downtown is darkend by huge skyscappers, here you'll find a smaller scale downtown with lots of restaurants and pubs serving terrific NW cuisine and some of the best microbeers on the planet. Want to explore? Visit the city's Rose Test Garden, take a hike in the country's largest city park filled with pine and fir trees.. or explore the Willamette countryside by visiting any number of the more than 200 wineries in the area! If you love good food and drink and mountain views and green trees and a vital fun downtown, Portland can't be beat!
