I've lived here all my life, grew up and went to Worthington City Schools. Loved every minute of it, and hope that when I have children, they can grow up here as well. Visit Easton, Polaris and Tuttle for great shopping. Eat at Crosswoods or the Arena District for great food. And ALWAYS visit Graeters for the best ice cream on this planet!!!!
Great for: Budget Travel, Family Holidays

(Report Problem)Our family of 4 (children ages 11 & 4)just returned from a weekend in Columbus. We went to the Ohio Train Show at the expo center in the state fair grounds. It was very good and the children as well as the husband were educated in a piece of our history. We then went to the huge mall on Sinclair/Morse Road and was impressed with all the stores and the atmosphere. Our hotel stay at the RAMADA LIMITED NORTH off rt 71 was HORRIBLE I have never stayed in such a dirty and filthy hotel as this. We didn't even eat the breakfast the next day in fear of how it had been handled. The beds had not been made from the last people who stayed there and evidence of human hair was found in both beds and on the pillows. The bath tub was full of hair as well. Our next day trip included a drive around downtown Columbus (wonderful) and then to COSI for the kids. This was an excellent way to educate the kids and entertain them at the same time. the Titanic exhibit was AWESOME. We will go back again because 6 hrs was not enough time to see the whole thing. Thanks Columbus , we'll see you again.

(Report Problem)Columbus is a nice place to live. The people are very friendly. I would not suggest visiting. Living in Columbus my whole life, I have gotten very tired of driving out to Cincinnati and Cleveland for amusement. There are no good shows, no professional sports, no good amusement parks, no good museums, and not that much history in Columbus. Cincinnati and Cleveland have a lot more history, and have a lot of fun urban districts. German Village is great in Columbus, but there's not much else, and it goes to show just how little diversity there is the city. German Americans make up the only real significant ethnic group in the city. Central Ohio is a very rural, conservative place. Nightlife may be getting better, but it is still not where it should be. I hope someday Columbus will be as sophisticated as Cleveland, and as colorful as Cincinnati. Check back in twenty years for a possible visit to Columbus.

(Report Problem)Columbus is a neat place to visit once and while, but if you aren't from Ohio you might not get it. It is the state capital, centrally located in the state, and Ohio State is here too. OSU sports are huge here and throughout Ohio. I think everyone loves the city for OSU sports. Easton is another part of the draw, because it is one of Ohio's better malls and is actually a fun place to go even if you don't like to shop. There is one cool place to stay called the Lofts Hotel downtown, but there isn't anywhere cool to walk to from it. You definitely need a car and a map to get around this city. Be prepared to get bad advice from locals about where to go out, because they will usually direct you to a Max and Erma's or some other boring place to eat.

(Report Problem)My family & I have been visiting Columbus for almost 10 years now & every time we can't wait to go back. We love the zoo & have been members for a few years & Wyandotte Lake is absolutely wonderful. Downtown Columbus has a lot to see & do & we love strolling around in German Village. Everyone we've ever met has been very friendly & seems like there is always something new to see or do. If I had my way-we'd never leave!

(Report Problem)I love this town it's friendly and everything is convienant!!! I really love Easton that is the hot spot for night life! Polaris is also nice if you want to get away. We have a zoo and aquarium, a water park, farms in the country, amlls in the big city, and some really cool resturants to eat at. You really need an Columbus native to show you around if you want to have some fun while visiting this cool Buckeye City!

(Report Problem)I just can’t figure out why people think this place is so clean, safe, and wonderful. I hear that all the time. I was actually the victim of crime when I was out in a supposedly safe area of the city. It was nothing serious, and probably an isolated incident, but affected me nonetheless. Downtown Columbus and a majority of the city are pretty unattractive and dirty. I think because maybe it is a newer city that some of these nice places have sprouted up away from the city center, such as Easton, but I have never seen anything else that great in the entire city, and I have actually looked.

(Report Problem)I had never been to Columbus before, and I was excited to go for an interview. The city's nightlife and shopping had been hyped up by some my friends. For nightlife I started out in the very trendy and artsy Short North neighborhood. I was told it was downtown- but it really was a little longer north of downtown than I thought. There are many newer upscale establishments in this area and it was great. The atmoshpere reminds me something a little of Paris with all the marble table tops, wicker chairs, and art galleries. Everyone was pretty well-dressed and having a good time even though everything seems to be overpriced. I highly recomend it, but unfortunetly this district isn't very large (you don't want to travel too far off the main high street strip either) and it is really the only worthwhile place in Columbus. The Arena district is more casual than the Short North, but it is so gritty and dirty that it isn't even fun. Don't bother going. For daytime activities I went around the German Village district which was kind of interesting, but it only took two seconds to see everything. There were some neat homes and it might be a cool place to live, but definately a boring place to visit. I went all the way out to Easton which had some nice stores and restaurants, but I couldn't figure out why it was all the way out in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't decide either if I liked the whole recreated town atmoshpere. It seemed kind of like some strage, phoney Disney experiance to me. I thought Ohio State would have some interesting places, but I was shocked at how ugly and delapidated the campus and neighborhood was. I wanted to go to the art museum, but I asked a few people who told me not to bother.

(Report Problem)The night life is amazing! I've traveled all over for my business and the only city with a better downtown/surrounding life at night is Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Everything's close downtown and when you need to get to store the suburban area is close and endless! This city really is young and very, very exciting everwhere. Easton Town Center is the biggest mall I've ever been to. It doesn't have all the "attractions" as The Mall of America does, but it certainly has more cocktail bars and a bigger area! I will definitely come back here with my wife.
