While Cincinnati has some nice areas, there is an overall feeling of oppression and tension. Perhaps it is the frequent grayness, or the darkness of the river that contributes to this feeling, or perhaps it is knowing the recent history of suppression of progress ideas and lack of racial progress in the city.

(Report Problem)Very pretty; sits on seven hills, tucked away in Ohio River valley. People are some of the friendliest in the country. Great history in the formation of the U.S. located on the Ohio River water route. Great universities, especially Miami, Ohio, thirty-five miles from city center.

(Report Problem)Cincinnati is great. They have the ugly pessimism of the northern industrial Rust Belt, the racism and social inequality of the dirty-dirty South and the backward Christian ethos of the Midwest. It's like a melting pot for all the ignorance of America.

(Report Problem)Probably the most racially segregated town in the country, Mark Twain has been attributed as saying he would love to be in Cincinnati at the end of the world because it is always 10 years behind. Conservative attitudes dominate this stale entertainment scene. While downtown is bustling with workers during the day, it is dormant by night and club-goers will find it hard to meet locals, as they are very clique-ish. If you love art, however, Cincinnati has some amazing museums, most notably its Contemporary Arts Center (free on Monday). If you must visit Cincinnati, checkout nearby Northern Kentucky (Newport on the Levee & MainStrasse Village, specifically), and you'll find the best things in Cincinnati are in another state.
