(Report Problem)For those who absolutely abhor my state of NY, stay where you are. Why come? It's for the bold and the brave. We don't need your tourism, you clog the streets and hold up our trains, irregardless. And next time the lights are too bright for you, don't look up! Isn't that the first rule in your handy "what you need to know about New York" tour guide.

(Report Problem)My husband and I went to NYC for our honeymoon and we had a blast. We stayed for 2 weeks and visited all of the tourist-y places and some of the local favorites. I highly recommend it. Buy a subway pass and be adventurous!

(Report Problem)I visited New York in 2001, Just 2 weeks after September 11 tradgey. I found the people very very nice, some i must say had attidudes but i guess thats just New Yokers for you. I Stayed in the Best Western hotel which was just around the corner from Empire State Building, I dont think its a best western any longer. We stayed for 4 nights and i must say best time of my life. It was excellent I would def recommend if you get the chance to go then go for it. Myself coming from Glasgow, Scotland I found it a totally different experience. So many big buildings and the bright lights of Times square-amazing!

(Report Problem)I have relatives in NY and I've been visiting them every year since I was 3. Recently, I've started going into the city and it's great! The people are quite nice and helpful. There was this one time when my sister was lost at the subway station and some other lady (that was lost) helped her out. Anyway, hailing cabs was fun and the shopping was great! I also really like American currency because the prices always seem cheaper to me than in Canada. I also really liked the different cultures in each area and Central Park was absolutely beautiful. Be SURE to visit Balthazar's on 80 Spring Street (be sure to bring extra money for the bakery next door) and the Soho shopping district! One thing I didn't like was the smoggy air and the lines at the Empire State Building. I got there at 3pm and didn't leave until 10pm. The elevators were crowded and the lines were insanely long! I spent about 8hrs in lines. The view was very lovely in the dark sky but the pics didn't come out. I saw an H&M store at the bottom! I also got my shoe stuck in the revolving doors, so yeah, a pretty bad experience for me. The smog also made my dry throat even worse and thank goodness for Polan Spring water! The New York Sightseeing doubledecker bus also takes you to all the NYC sites you EVER wanted to go to! I LOVE NY!!
