(Report Problem)New York City Review I liked the Park ave. Professionals and all the sport and cultural bulidings. What I didn't like was there are too many cars and traffic accessing into New York. NYC is still the financial capital of the world.

(Report Problem)New York is a city with soul. It's more like home than my real home (London). I can't quite put my finger on why that is but it's the one city I could live in, not know anyone and yet not be lonely. Friends have described NYC as many things including a larger version of Sydney, a 100% multicultural place (there is not one race more dominant than the next when you walk on the streets), convenient, warm and fun.

(Report Problem)We were there in early December, so a little chilly. Either the businesses and the subway has never heard of the Americans with Disabilities Act or they slide in under a grandfather clause because either there isn't an elevator or it is out of order. We experienced a LOT of climbing of stairs - which is to be expected using the subway system but a lot of retail establishments/sightseeing places had elevators that were out of order. It was not as dirty as I had been led to believe and we didn't experience ANY really rude New Yorkers. There were folks that didn't acknowledge our existence, but you get that anywhere you go. Everyone we asked for help, happily provided it. I didn't see a single rat - even down in the lower subway areas. Don't miss ToysRUs in Times Square. Trust me it is NOT like your TRU at home! You need to see everything you can the first time though, because the costs associated with NYC will likely keep from coming back for a followup visit until you've exhausted trips to other places you want to see first.
