When we were there, there was a ground-level aluminum walkway across the expanse of the arena, which had been built for a pageant. This added incredibly to the experience -- to stand in the center of the place and gaze around and imagine what it must have been like. This was our second visit, and the walkway added much to our appreciation.

(Report Problem)I loved all the cultural information that they told us. The Colosseum is an excellent place to visit. Did you know there are 80 enterances? I didn't, until I came here. If you come here, you will totally agree that this is the ultamit vacation spot in the world. Plus, the view of the Colosseum is amazing! Please come here and help me prove this is the best!

(Report Problem)You line up outside, watch the lame performances of the fake gladiators as you wait in the 90 degree sun, get talked into joining a tour group, and can never find a good angle for decent pictures. There is very little to nothing to see inside the Colloseum. It looks just like you think it would, very old, very broken. There is awesome history to be learned from a good tour guide (who by the way can skip you to the front of the line if you hook up with one before standing around all day). Everyone who is in Rome should go, just don't expect to be in awe or see anything that really looks like it was awe-worthy in the past.

(Report Problem)I hated it. It was dumb. I don't want to go back.
