The Pantheon is the quintessential Roman Temple. The fact that it has stood the test of time better than any building before or after, coupled with the fact that it was the largest dome built for 1300 years makes this 'The Greatest Building in the World'. The oculus is the ultimate device to convey the inherent connection between the built environment and nature.

(Report Problem)Interesting building. Staggering to think of the engineering involved all those years ago.

(Report Problem)An awesome building, the oldest building in Rome. This is a must see it is a truly amazing place especially when one considers the age of the structure and everything it has survived not least of which is the pillaging of various sections by a number of Italys rulers/leaders over the years. Visit was slightly marred by the presence of scaffolding inside for the cleaning of the dome interanlly, but this is understandable.

(Report Problem)The Pantheon is the neatest thing to see in Rome. When you come across it, it almost looks fake, like it was dropped in the middle of the wrong movie set because of its age and architecture compared to its surrounding buildings. The inside was not as fascinating as the outside but it never hurts to go into a place that doesn't cost anything.

(Report Problem)Incredible building - located on a beautiful square with lovely restaurants, fountain, etc. I spent my last night in Italy sipping a class of wine and taking in the sites of the Pantheon from across the square. Lovely.

(Report Problem)This is one of the world's great spiritual structures. Every time I'm in Rome, I always go to the Pantheon and when I look up there is the oculus or the "Eye" of the Pantheon right smack in the apex of the great dome. You feel a real sense of wonder and peace in this pagan Temple subsequently consecrated as a Catholic church. Nearby are other super sights like Piazza Navona, Piazza della Minerva, Piazza Spagna and La Fontana di Trevi where one of my favourite restaurants called El Presidente is located.
