I've been to dozens of cities in Europe, all thoroughly enjoyable and without complaint until I stumbled upon Bratislava. Never in my life have I experienced such rude, miserable, hostile, unfriendly people as what I did here. There's not many things to like about this place. Lacks culture, lacks class, lacks individuality. Yes there's a castle here (ugly one if that) but what ancient cities don't have one. Countless times we were scammed and overcharged by these people on a night out but don't even bother questioning them as the law of the fist is in full swing. It is quite easy to see why their economy is up the duff as their attitude to tourism stinks. Yes it's a cheap place for a holiday but there are far better cities in Eastern Europe to see i.e Krakow. In the waste of 3 days that I spent here I didn't see one smile on the face of a local. You'd be forgiven for thinking you had discovered a city in post war depression. If only someone would drop a bomb on Bratislava, the world would be a better place.
