Overall

Tbilisi is a wonderful city with an amazing culture. The city is filled with ancient fortresses and churches. The food is excellent and people are extremely generous and friendly. You truly feel like Marco Polo in the silk road. The food is a combination of European, Middle Eastern and Asian influences. Also if you get a chance try seeing the Georgian National Ballet as it is absolutely fascinating. The city used to be dangerous a few years back but it is as safe these days as any major U.S city. The airlines flying into Tbilisi are KLM, BA, Austrian, Turkish and Lufthansa(starting in June.) For hotels i have only stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and I recommend it.
