I know the Eiffel Tower has become a symbol of Paris, a landmark that draws more tourists than flies to honey, but I don't like it. I have to agree with the Parisians who first saw it and declared it an ugly eyesore. There are so many pretty, historic buildings in Paris. The Pont Alexandre is prettier than the tower. If you want my advice, walk by the tower, ooh and ahh, and then go to the Louvre, the Musee de Orsay, Musee Carnavalet and definitely Place des Vosges. Here's a tip: If you want a nice view of Paris without having to stand in long lines...Go to the department store La Samaritian. They have a nice little cafe on their roof and offer gorgeous views of the entire city - even Sacre Couer on a cloudy day! And, it's free!
