It is an amazing site - you cannot even begin to imagine how wonderful it looks in person ..... You can see all the pictures in the world - but none compares. I went last year for the first time - The first night we were there - we went to see the Tower - I could have gone home right then, and the trip would have been worth the money I spent --- AWESOME mon amour

(Report Problem)I went to Paris last december, it was absolutely breathtaking. The Eiffel Tower at night is amazing, the lit is fantastic, but you should go to the top at noon if you go on winter time otherwise you wont be able to see anything but the mist and fog. And if possible stay in a hotel room with a window facing the tower and I guarantee you wont get much sleep, you'll stare it the whole night. You just cant get enough of it!!

(Report Problem)Even if the Eiffel Tower was not intended to symbolize Paris, the reality is that it does. It is what we think about when we dream of Paris. I saw it first at a distance on my trip from the airport and it hit me, thet I was really in Paris. Go at night when its lit and climb to the top with your love, for a truly romantic experience.

(Report Problem)I know the Eiffel Tower has become a symbol of Paris, a landmark that draws more tourists than flies to honey, but I don't like it. I have to agree with the Parisians who first saw it and declared it an ugly eyesore. There are so many pretty, historic buildings in Paris. The Pont Alexandre is prettier than the tower. If you want my advice, walk by the tower, ooh and ahh, and then go to the Louvre, the Musee de Orsay, Musee Carnavalet and definitely Place des Vosges. Here's a tip: If you want a nice view of Paris without having to stand in long lines...Go to the department store La Samaritian. They have a nice little cafe on their roof and offer gorgeous views of the entire city - even Sacre Couer on a cloudy day! And, it's free!
