No help at all

two stars

I didn't like this site because it didn't say anything about what I needed to know like main sites in Cabagan or climate or anything like that!

Cagayan de Oro- see it from my eyes

five stars

Cagayan de Oro is a small city off the coast of Mindanao here in the Philippines. It is known to be the City of Friendship and not without truth. The people there, from personal experience, is very different from the people in most of the major cities. In fact, they are more than willing to accomodate new people whether muslim,non-muslim, tagalog, bisaya, foreigners, you name it. Racial differentiation has no place in this convenient hub. Laughter is an all around medicine in this city where the residents grew to love the springs of Jalaan, where most have been to the beautiful island of Camiguin or have gone to adventures in the surfing in the ebbing waters of Siargao or the white waters in the north, nature has never been more fascinating. With a concoction of urban living, the streets of Divisoria down to Limketkai are filled with bubbly young party-goers, malls, food chains, saucy restaurants are all creating a rumpus in this developing fringe. It is a city that does not boast of the usual, bland skyscrapers or reeks with congested metropolitans but it blends well between the extremes of fast-paced living and relaxation. If you are the common, headbiting, nervewracking, social climbing urban honcho then this is not the place to be. This paradise is well out of the threats of terrorists in Mindanao, it's as if the chains of restraint ties them from dipping their bloody hands to this sublime Philippine architecture where their muslim brothers thrive and perfectly interspersed into the wonderful culture. This and more wonders of the subjective aesthetic thinker makes the city one of the must-go places in the country.

CDO a wonderful place

five stars

I was married to a wonderful filipina in cdo or cagayan de oro last March 2004. It is a wonderful living city with many friendly people. I am a large individual about 6'2' and 400 lbs and many had never seen someone so large. I gathered attention were ever I went. The hotel i stayed in was resonable about 17 us dollars per day. This included 2 beds, airconditioner, small refrigerator, full working bath with shower etc. If you look around you may even find a house to rent for about 60-100 dollars per month, but you will have to furnish it. Even with the terrorist active in the phillipines, it is wonderful. If you are carefull just as anywhere else in the world, you will be safe.(if you go seeking adventure in bad areas you invite danger.) Well worth the money I spent and the wife God brought into my life.
