Good location, so-so food, good drinks!
The location is the best thing - Elgin Street. Well decorated little place, fun to go for an after work drink. This place was cool when the "martini" trend hit Ottawa. They do have some nice drinks. A- crowd is now a B crowd. The staff is friendly, but service is often very slow. The food is not that great, some good menu ideas but the delivery falls short sometimes. Overcooked seafood, disappointing Thai dishes, some appetizers are very good though, ask server for suggestions! A few things are reliably good. Too expensive for the quality food that you get, their premium drinks are pricey, but where aren't they? Reliable for drinks and snacks, not always for a good dinner.

This groovy and upbeat restaurant has been gaining steam over the past two years to become one of the more popular dining and drinking spots of the Elgin St. and Ottawa night life. Offering a great selection of dining delectables, your taste buds can take a tour of some of the world's tastier dishes. As the evening progresses the hip and trendy come out of the wood and drift in to listen to the DJ's spin on the bar and quoff down a few libations. There is a good selection of both red and white wines, foreign and domestic, and tasty variety of beers on tap and by the bottle. If that is not enough to quench your thirst, then sample a few of the specialty cocktails that are quickly shaken or stirred up by the super friendly and attractive staff. Whatever you are out on the town for, a chilled out meal with a nice bottle of wine or a get the funk out evening of laughs and mayhem, MASH is the place to be.
