I've visited Myanmar last autumn (2005). We've spent there 3 weeks, traveled by car from Yangon up to Bago (Golden Rock), Kalaw, Inle, Mandalay, Bagan and then the beach. We had a ride on elephants in a forest where we were the only white people, we had meditate in the peaceful Golden Rock pagoda (this is one of the places I liked the most!), had trekking in Kalaw area and boat ride in Inle lake... and so much more... Actually there are so many places to visit in this country! Even if it would be just one Shwedagon there - it would be good enough reason to visit. We liked almost everything! This is a very beautiful country, kind and tender, and a bit sad... I start to value my convenient life more after that visit.
Great for: History/Culture
Last Visit: november 2005

(Report Problem)Myanmar is my birth country, and the people of myanmar most kind people on this earth, If the goverment of myanmar only treat the monority equal as buddist people then there is nothing to dislike, I think no country in the world can match myanmar if all are treated equally, and i am confident that myanmar will flourish within no time.
