Hii I visited Fes. It was great. So much better than the fake Marakech. I stayed with the Barnards in their Dar (not a Riad cos it has no garden). The Medina is still real. Peolpe living in a tough place. Do not go there unless u can face realty of life and business and stress. But to me that is what travel is about. If u want a lager beach then go elsewhere. I met artists and intellectuals. It is mind braodenign Cheers Jim

(Report Problem)We spent 5 amazing days in Fez. The medina with its small alleys and crowded with people seemed like a medieval picture. It's incredible how everything has preserved its original charm and beauty!!! We stayed at Riad Fes, the most splendid house I've ever seen. We used to go up on the terrace every evening and listen to the muezzins calling for prayers enjoying a cup of hot mint tea and some delicious almond cookies. We also visited Meknes, Volubilis, Ifrane and the Middle Atlas Mountains in a one day trip organized by our riad. In a word, it was a unique experience, one that i've never dreamt of....
