LIked it so much, buying a condo
February 2005, First time for us in Playa, loved it, We stayed at the Royal Hideaway Playacar, We have stayed at many resorts and the 24/7 SERVICE was by far the best we have ever experienced. They area was so nice, we are looking at purchasing a condo in the playacar area.

Playa is the BEST place to be in Mexico. I read another review were it was said that it was cheaper to stay in Cancun. That could not be further from the truth! There are so many boutique hotels to choose from that are well under $100 a night. In fact there are plenty that are under $50 a night. Nice ones. Not All inclusives, but nice. You may even be better off waiting until you get there to find a room. I was there a week last year in May and it was the best experiance ever! I met lots of locals that helped me get around and showed me the REAL Mexico. The Maya people were so friendly, but watch out for men on the street looking for Americans to sell drugs to. They are more than likely planning to rip you off (So I'm told:). By far Playa has the best food. Cancun can not touch it. Also I met a group of French people and we really hit it off well, which was amazing since I do not speak French and they did not speak English. But please be aware that you should speak Spanish! This is not Cancun and Mayan people to not take kindly to those that don't even make the effort to speak Spanish. Even if they do speak english they won't. I'm going back next month! OLE!:)

We loved Playa del Carmen so much that when we booked our vacation it was cheaper to stay Cancun but every day we would get up early in the morning and get on the bus in downtown Cancun to buy our round trip ticket to playa and spend the whole day there. I'm going back in July of 05 but staying in playa del carmen (Hotel Kinbe)

we,ve been to mexico 3 times now ,over the last 6yrs,and stayed in playa carr which is right next door to playa del carmen,both areas we found friendly,the beaches fantastic,the locals helpful and friendly,and most of the hotels,very good to great infact.

My wife and I have visited this area for the past 6 years. Each resort has been wonderful but the Festival Pallidum Grand is the one we will go back to. The only other area that is an equal value is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic but Mexco feels more warm and inviting. If you crave more excitement you can always take a trip up to Cancun.

It's awesome! (even for teenagers) I'm 18 and I went with my parents last July and we're going back this July! Although I did take a friend & she's going back w/ us too! I can't wait the beach is beautiful!

One of the best vacations we have taken, which includes cruising. Our family loved the resort and amenities. The hotel staff were professional and curteous. The weather was always perfect. We especially liked venturing into town and shopping, or relaxing by the pool. Mexico is defidently one of the hottest vacation destinations!
