A very GOOD place to travel !!!!

It's great!!!!!!! The best place to travel in South East Asia!!! Friendly people... Excellent food... Good transportation (big & modern bus terminal)... The Melaka River is soooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

Slower pace where it all began

Nice quaint little town in Malaysia. Has a lot of history and there is a lot of good food. The Baba/Nonya cooking style originated here and is a mixture of Malay and Chinese cuisines that created a style that is delicious and almost without rival in all of SE Asia. This city was the first European outpost in SE Asia and there is a lot of Dutch, English and Portuguese influence in the architecture. If you're looking for a lot of things to do and more of a nightlife I'd suggest Sinagpore to the south or KL to the north, but if you're interested in history and don't mind a more relaxed pace, then Malacca has a lot for you.
