Inchean isn't a pretty town but it does have a couple of redeeming features. Korea's only China Town is here, located right opposite to Incheon Subway station on Line Number 1. It's rather poor showing for what it is though, so don't expect much. The restaurants are pricey and of the 'fusion' variety catering to Korean taste buds. There is a lovely park just above on a small hill. Jayu (Freedom) Park is worth a visit for three resons, A Centenial Monument to Korean US relations has rather attractive contemporary sculptures. There is a Modernist cement statue of Confucious (go figure) and the views of the seaport from up there aren't bad. Wolmido is the port of Incheon. It hosts the usual variety of restaurant on a wide promenade and there is a small amuzement park which is famous for the Viking Ship rides. (3) All of which ran empty when I was there on a bright sunny June Saturday. There is a short, bay cruise on a 3 deck boat with live music for the desperately bored as there is nothing much to see during 1.5 hour of pure tedium. Unless you enjoy cheesy Korean pop while mingling with the eldery. Great for: clearing you lungs of Seoul pollution.
