(Report Problem)I visited Amman after visiting in Beirut, and wondered why I bothered, I really regretted cutting a few days off of my Beirut trip to go do nothing in Amman. Amman really has nothing to offer; a quiet non-descript town like an American suburb, everything looks so artificial and new, you don't even feel you are in the Middle East. Whereas other Middle East cities have this historic charm about them, Amman has none, just real wide streets and new bland identical buildings with no soul. The town almost always seems asleep, there really is nothing to do in it, the cultural scene is amateurish and lame, the night-life horrible, and the people generally not too welcoming. To make matters worse, you can drive around for hours and not find one nice scene to look at, it's a town built on a few hills with no greenery or anything attractive around it, no beaches, no rivers, no green spaces. If you want to see the mystique of the Middle East, then you can't go right with Amman, you should go to Damascus, Jerusalem, or anywhere in Lebanon; and if you want a fun city to enjoy your time, then don't bother and book a flight to Beirut instead. Unless you have something to tend to, I can not imagine why anyone would visit Amman.

(Report Problem)I live in Canada, and I visit my friends and family in Jordan every year! I find jordan as the best place in the middle east! Jordanians are very friendly, the weather is so nice, the hospitality is great and safety is very noticeable! A lot to see and a lot to appriciate! religious places and historical areas... I wish each and everyone of you will have the chance to go there, explore the country and enjoy each moment with the smile on your face all the time.

(Report Problem)I visit Jordan every 2 to 3 years to visit my family and friends. Not to sound biased, but Jordanians are a wonderful hospitable people. While in Jordan don't miss the historic sites of Jerash (an old Roman city.), Petra (an ancient Nabatean city carved into the rose colored rock mountains of Southern Jordan.) and definately the Dead Sea (Believed to be the biblical site of Sodom and Gamora.
