I want to go back before I die.
This is a place of dreams. To me it rivals Greece as one of the most beautiful places in the world. I went several times, and I always stayed with a little old lady who had a sign that said "affitarse camere" in her window, which meant that she would rent a room in her own home to a guest. I got to see Italian life close up, and to get my first real glimpse of Italian TV.

such a beautiful town. i went on good friday and was there for the good friday procession. it was phenomenal. this is one of my very favorite places on earth.

steeped in roman catholic relic, assisi is a walled city high in the hills of toscana. as i walked the road up to the town with some friends, we found ourselves captivated by the old world charm, as well as by the massive thunderstorm we watched roll into town from miles away, perched on the wall. in order to avoid the heavy rains, we entered a church that housed a divine spirit and splendid frescoes. once the weather abated, we visited souvenir shops with everything from postcards to crossbows!
