The Shining Star beach shack is a great restaurant...Food is great, but particularly the service you recieve from the staff..Nothing is too much trouble and especially Reddy, who will look after you very well. He's a great Guy.. We are going back for the fourth time in two years in a month..can't wait.

(Report Problem)It was a fantastic place to stay, the staff and managment were very friendly and helpful. They have the most beautiful pool set up in the trees, where kingfishers, monkeys and all other kinds of wildlife come roaming! Infact when I was there a cow hilariously jumped in the pool!!! The local beaches are amazing, and I was able through the oceanic to book a scooter and reccomended by them to visit some more remote and wonderful beaches. I plan to go back next season if they have room! (only six rooms so had to book early!) Thanks guys if you read this xxx

(Report Problem)We booked the Oceanic over the internet making a £25.00 deposit by pay pal. We asked them to arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport and that worked well. Then it went downhill. When we arrived at the hotel, very hot and extremely tired we told where our standard room was (not shown) it was just off the restaurant, which would have been OK if it wasn't for the state it was in. The sheets and towels were a sort of murky grey and the room smelt damp with a three quarter size bed. This may sound a bit harsh but the kennels we put our dog in was granted smaller butcleaner than this "standard room". In fact the whole place could do with a good clean and a lick of paint. Generally the Oceanic is very disappointing, tending to trade of the Telegraph article and the fact they are brits. It certainly not worth twenty odd pounds a night they charge We left our bags in the room and walked into Patnem where we found an excellent place to stay called Goyam try www.goyam.net we stayed in the pink cottage. The staff were friendly and the food perfect. Whilst there we met a few people who were staying at the Oceanic who confirmed that the brits who own it now (can't remember their names) bought it about three years ago and it has gone down hill since then. So it's up to you but if you do book and then and decide not to stay don't expect your complaints to have any effect. More likely you will just get an "OK you can go now" with a sneer from the staff

(Report Problem)Visited in Dec 06, second visit to Goa. Stayed in Calangute, resort in between Baga and Candolim. Great place, great people, hotel staff very friendly, can't do enough for you! Everything very cheap, went to Opticians, eyes tested and 2 pairs of glasses £50.00, compare that with £250.00 in UK, bargain!!! Leather goods great bargains also. Needed to buy another suitcase to bring it all home!!! Will definately visit Goa again very soon!! Only 1 thing didn't like and that is there are no direct flights from Scotland, had to fly to Gatwich and wait there 6 hours for connecting flight!

(Report Problem)Goa is a beautiful place to relax. There are lots of things to do other that lazing on the beach (although the beach shacks are something unique to Goa) like going shopping meeting people, arranging adventure trips for the whole family, good food especially good sea food. And most of all the people are very friendly and speak good English.
