Peace and Blessings! Let me Chime on this... I love Ghana!!! It was truly a dream come true. I was going through some major transitional things in my life, and I happened to have the money at the time and joined a group of 75 folks and we went to Ghana. I can honestly say that my decision to go to Ghana contributed greatly to my personal and Spiritual Growth. I was there for 3 weeks and stayed with a host family. I paid them $300 for the whole time, and chipped in money for my meals. They waited on me hand and foot, whatever my request was, they bent over backwards to accomindate me. They thought my contribution huge! And I brought gifts....not high price stuff, but typical tour stuff from Berkeley, and Alameda, and UC Berkeley College Garb, I had some binoculars, and gave it one of the boys....that was me being thoughtful/friendly.... sure it was little stuff but they were overjoyed when I presented my gifts to them. They are very grateful and thoughful people. Consideration goes a long way there! I was very grateful for the loving treatment I received from them, and I still write them to this day, and that was 4-5 yrs ago! I took only $1000 with me (and I tithe about $350 because I went down there for a Church event) and with the money left over I bought tons of stuff, had clothes tailor made for me, wood carvings, fabric, jewlry, Got my hair done, etc. It was awesome!!! And easy to get to....JetBlue to New York, New York to Senegal, Senegal to Accra, Ghana! Sweet! I cannot say enough about the kind and loving people of Ghana. The hospitality was exceptional. I was treated like a Queen and I loved every second of that loving attention. The landscape is exquisite Its truly a beautiful place, and the people are kind. I'm planning on returning in July 2005, which prompted my internet search to your site. I would recommend going to Ghana very highly! See you there! Peace!
