It is a wonderful city with tons of restaurants and shopping malls - Iguatemi, Morumbi, etc. They were all lovely. The shoes are to die for - they have a wonderful collection. Italian food there is amazing. The only thing I was warned about was crime- even the locals said that we shoud be careful and not go out alone at night. My first visit to South America has impressed me so much that I can't wait to go back.

(Report Problem)I spend two days in Sao Paulo before I moved to Ouro Preto and other small cities. Sao Paulo was... just another big city (but hotel and food were about 1/2 of what we expect to pay in the US). I would spend more time in other small cities in Brazil. Brazil has a lots of attraction in small cities... (Ouro Preto was an exciting one to spend two-three days...) People were nice and friendly. Airport was not a good experience. They need to build another bigger and nice one.

(Report Problem)I love my city!!!!!!!!!!! I'm here in the US for almost 8 months and I miss Sao Paulo a lot!!! I miss goint to my favorite bakery in the Liberdade neighborhood, and going to the mall with my friends, not counting the Ibirapuera park that is really beautiful!!!!!!! If you like arts, we have great museums and places to see some different stuff!!! Who wants to travel to Brazil has to go to Sao Paulo, at least for 3 days!!!! hehe...

(Report Problem)Now granted I have a friend that lives in Sao Paulo so I had my own personal guild. While I was there I had the most wonderful time ever. All the people I met were just as nice as can be. The food it just awesome. I will be going back next year and probably a lot more after that. Oh and silly me went and feel in love while I was there so thats a big plus too.

(Report Problem)What to say about a city that you can't see the sun shinning...and worst is the air, if you want to breath smoke there is the right place. Doesn have much things to do, expect go to the airport and run away to some place where the nature is present.

(Report Problem)I lived in Sao Paulo for several years and never once was I mugged, shot at, or even harassed. I lived in a normal neighborhood, took public transportation and used my street smarts in order to live and work comfortably in one of the world's great urban centers. Brazilian people are great hosts and even better friends. If you do decide to try Sao Paulo, like New York it has its good and bad. But as for restaurants, nightlife, live music, museums, filmhouses and an explosion of latino culture, there are few places that can compete. Keep your head about you and try a dinner in the Italian district, take in some latin jazz in the city center, end with a coffee and pastry in the Jewish barra and wake early to catch the Japanese outdoor market. And that is only one of thousands of possibilities.
