Walk by day. celebrate at night.
The city is one of the largest of the world. Use the public transportation and cabs. Forget about cars. Information on the internet. Lots of museums and parks to go. Real forests in the middle of the city: Serra da Cantareira. Night life through all night. The city never stops. You can eat, dance, flert on a very variety of places.

Don't wear expensive clothes or jewlery and you will be fine. The food and night life are great and very inexpensive.

I've been living in Sao Paulo since March and I've been mugged twice and shot at once. Other than that everything is great.

Sao Paulo is a mess, the kind of city you canīt wait to leave. Is dangerous and one can loose hours in the traffic Jam. If you are reading this is most likely because your flight stops over in Sao Paulo and you are studing the possibility of visiting the city - DONīT. Itīs a waste of money and time. Get on the immediate next flight and go to the Iguazu Falls, Pantanal (Swamplands of Brazil), Manaus (Rain Forest), Rio de Janeiro (must visit Copacabana) or Salvador.
