Annual pilgrimage

five stars

I visit every year in February on business and stay for one week or two. In brugge the buildings are varied and beautiful, there is so much history and local charm. There are many restaurants, a different theme of cuisine is available every evening, not he cheapest place to go out to eat but the locals are friendly and helpful and its good to spoil yourself now and again (especially when its on expenses !!!)

Great for: History/Culture

Peaceful quiant town.

five stars

Regular two day weekend trip to Brugge from Kaiserslautern ... As I drove into town, I was a bit worried since it seemed to metropolitian. There are hotels in the middle of town and once off the main roads most people walk and bike the grey bricked streets. The canals reminded me of Amsterdam, but everything seemed very close. The Half Moon Brewery is a must visit and The Hobbit resturant and pub next to it were terrific. That same night we visited an Irish Pub and there was live music and fair prices on drinks. Two days was enough, but more time would have made the visit better ... and buying some lace product is a must while you're there.

Extraordinary place!

five stars

I recommend this amazing city to anyone who appreciates old, well-preserved architecture, canals, fairy tale-like sights and overall, a dreamy atmosphere. The people there are extremely helpful, kind and friendly, and the city is probably the most beautiful I've ever visited. I strongly suggest touring it on foot, since it's so small and full of places that are not tourism sights, but for those of us who do not live there, are still full of charm. You'll see when you get there that it feels like you're leaving this time in history and automatically stepping into a medieval fairy tale.

Visit Brugge

five stars

Brugge is a beautiful city. Located in north west Belgium, Brugge is really a great place to visit. In this modern world Brugge remains an old city full of beautiful sites, sounds and smells. Brugge is a flemish speaking city but don't worry because most of the people here can speak English and will happily do so as the people are so very friendly. Boat trips in summer are great too!

Like stepping into a fairy tale

five stars

Brugge is a beautiful medieval city. It's easy to get around with the ancient part of the city near the center. To enter Brugge makes you feel like you just stepped into a fairy tale with cobblestone streets, gorgeous and ornate architecture, and tons of old world charm. I found some excellent food, great beers & chocolates, wonderful tours. Those who enjoy shopping will find a wealth of opportunities.
