upon arrrival we were asked for identification for our kids to verify age. no problem i gave that info up front and had a reciept for 4 adults, air and lodging, but i was informed it would be another $30. each per night for the kids. 20 and 22 year old college students. just bad situation 11:30 pm on christmas. Romina was the desk clerk and had no other solutions, (up grade to suite at our charge or an additional room also at an upcharge by my suggestion). i have not had this experience with any expedia trip i have purchased. (approx. 25-30 trips) facility was alright beach was great most staff was very pleasant, perfect location for shopping or walks to restaurants.

i went to can cun june 2004 and i can say that the hotel was amazing, the staff treat you like royalty and are the nicest people you can ever meet. the rooms were clened at least two times a day and were always tip top condition you could not ask for a nicer hotel. we were smack bang in the middle of everything the plaza was across the road, we had clubs all around us shopping malls everything that you could think of. if you were to go to cancun i would book the sheraton.!!!!!! have a wicked time the pool was lovley and you had the swim up bar the grill where they cook the food and you had entertainment all day plus music and pool games

Cancun is a great spot for a vacation. However, our daughter stayed at the Omni, and there is just no way to compare the two. The Omni is far and away a superior choice. Maid service was extremely bad, the room was not cleaned well, we had to repeatedly ask for towels. The hotel restaurant food was mediocre and not a good value. If we go back to Cancun, we will not stay at the Sheraton. The location is a bright spot, across from la Isla mall. The desk staff and the concierge staff were very helpful, Overall, the Sheraton was lacking and therefore is ranked a 3 at best.

The Sheraton Hotel in Cancun is a basic hotel - nothing spectacular and not a resort. The rooms were small and the housekeeping services were awful. We had to ask for new towels almost every day and the room was never truly cleaned the whole time we were there. For the money, there are much nicer resorts in the hotel zone.

Great staff, wonderful beach, but missing the main ingredient. No balcony, sealed windows.

Wonderful hotel, great staff and a great beach. Miss the main ingredient. Ocean front rooms do not have balconies and the windows do not open.

Pros: (about the hotel) plenty to do: bars, restaurants, shopping, beautiful beaches, nice sized room with balcony. Cons: it was loud! big problem when trying to sleep at 5am. I was a tourist, and they let me know- very expensive! All in all, I can't wait to go back to Cancun...just not at the Sheraton.

GREAT beach. Nice and wide, lots of places to sit. Room was pretty basic. Food and drink expensive (overpriced) but about on par with the rest of Cancun. Housekeeping service was very good (incl. lots of large, clean towels). Nice hammock garden. Good location in terms of being close to shopping center. NOTE - If you drink coffee...the rooms have no coffee makers and if you wake up early wanting your daily hot cup of Java the hotel has no coffee stand and the restaurant doesn't start serviving until after 6:30, really closer to 7. A small styrofoam cup of so-so java will run you USD $2.50. Worse than that there's no convenience store within walking distance that serves AM coffee either.

The ocean front view was nice, only one chair in the room along with a table, so sitting and enjoying it was limited. Also, windows sealed shut, so you don't have the option to enjoy any fresh sea air, or hear the ocean in the evenings. The rooms were clean, well kept, elevators pretty quick. I would prefer a staircase to have access to, but that's for staff only. Meals at the motel were really high $70.00 usd for a breakfast for 4 - the food was mediocre at best. Agent at the desk willing to help set up tours, but of course not just any tour...they have their own company's to sell? We did enjoy the tours, but was never offered any help in locating the departing location, which was a couple of miles from our hotel. Car rental was great - well run, available and courteous.
